Yes. Haru's not that stupid.

As you know I write him post canon mostly and 18+ so he's starting to grow and mature by that point compared to canon teen Dera. A lot can change in just a few years including his realization that his harsh words do hurt those he cares about and he used to think he could just be a shield and be done with it. But now he's starting to value himself and treasure his own life and realizing if he throws it all away in one shot, then who's going to protect the others? He's learning that he doesn't have to shoulder the burden all on his own all the time, that's literally what his friends are for. They need to be able to help support him as much as he has tried to do for them. As you've seen with his interactions with Lambo, he's learning that yeah kids get on your nerves sometimes, but sometimes they act out like that because they need you. He's learning Lambo's not just an annoying kid, he acts up because he needs attention. Gokudera's the one person that kid is seeking validation from, so he's learning to give it to him. He's realized he needs to spend time just talking to him, that's all Lambo wanted. He's learning to choose his words more carefully with Haru and that she's a lot stronger than he gave her credit for and much more than just Aho-onna. And so much more, but those are just a few examples of what he's learned so far (as per my portrayal) in verses and threads.
