The real secret of magic is that the world is made of words, and that if you know the words that the world is made of you can make of it whatever you wish. - Terence McKenna There are so many ways to take those quote, but I'm drawn to a very literal interpretation.  The way we perceive the world is a direct result of our thoughts and assumptions of that world.  If we change the words we use to describe the world, we change the world around us.  Over the years, many gurus have reminded us of this idea, but it can be distilled down to one simple phrase - Garbage In, Garbage Out.  If we believe the world to be dark and dangerous and if we describe it as such, then that's the world we will experience.  We must be masters of our thoughts and our language because this is how to paint our world.  The world is made of words.
