"It's All So Incredibly Loud" is literally a Caleb Widogast song like I don't know how to more clearly sum up early game Caleb's personality than with the lyric "gave it all and everything for more time, but I lost"

if your caleb/caleb ship playlist dosent have arsonist’s lullaby in it, is it really a caleb-centric playlist?
I just love her so much
VOLSTRUCKER QUEEN
The dance scene in ep 126 and why they probably danced Tango
Disclaimer:
I am not a professional dancer nor historian. Dancing is a hobby for me for nearly to decades. Also I like History.
This is only what I think and I want to share with you. I am not saying what I think is „canon“ or „right and everything is wrong“ I am saying „with my experince and knowledge Tango is the only thing that makes sense for me“.
We know they are dancing dancehall. A place people go to, to dance and have a drink. Equivalant to Clubs/Disco in our times.
We know tthey danced very close because there was a lot of into ear whispering, cheeks touching and leaning head onto the others shoulder moments.
We know its supposed to be a medieval-fantasy set up.
We know they are zemnian (aka fantasy german) peopl.
What I know from dancing:
the only dance where you can dance so close as they did is what we call „Tango Argentino“. When you are dancing a Walz and other ballroomdancing you are not close enough to whisper as they did. not to speak of cheeks touching.
Tango Argentino you can do all of that what is written above.
As I learned to dance Tango Argentino I was taught, there isn‘t a „male part“ and a „female part“. Those terms do not excist. They were called „leading part“ and „following part“. Think about it for a bit. There is no „male part/ men do this part” that are in Ballroom dancing always the leading part.
In Tango I was thaught: „whoever wants to lead is allowed to lead and whoever wants to follow can do that. “ (I am so happy all the people in all forms are welcomend in the world of Tango. It feels so inclusive for just everyone!)
With having that in mind, its absolutly no shocker that Astrid can just easyily take the leading part during the dance session she has with Caleb.
Now if you say „Jester and Caleb dancend a Walz“ – yes. They did. What if I tell you there is a special form of tango argentino called „valse“ what means „Walz“? To say Astrid and Caleb were dancing Tago valse would combine those two things. The Walz and the Tango Argentino. Would that be a compromise for you?
And now the thing I am most excited about:
There is first hand evidence that Tango was danced in Germany in 1652. Of course historians say that is not what medieval times anymore. For me its close enough to medieval times though and lets be honest: The peasants famer and simple people havent moved on from medieval habits that much yet. What were Bren and Astrid? Children of said poor farmers that maybe didnt move on from medieval times that much yet.
This source of information is a book called „de vitae Westfalicae“ where its written, that people were dancing this „new danceform“ (that was evolved from their traditional dances) way to firvol and the women were dancing so lustfull and showing to much skin and only want to cloud mens heads and they have to be posessed by the devil and be therefore witches. So a lot of women were burned alive because they danced a new danceform and got caught while doing so by people of the church or someone just told the people of the church a lie and tell they saw a woman dancing...the woman was dead most probably some days later. Of course the church couldnt stop all people from dancing this dance and so it became popular in other german cities as well and eventually went overseas.
Blumenthal is in fact a german city not that far away from the westfalia region by the way.
Tldr;
There was a form of Tango in near to medieval times (time is not quite correct but not as far of as the ballroom dances we have nowadays are), people of westfalia (Germany) came up with it and danced it a lot (Astrid and Caleb are fantasy german people) and someday brought it overseas to Argentinia where it evolved into Tango Argentino.
If in your head they danced a Walz, consider they might have danced a Tango Valse.
What do you think?
Thank you for reading.
They danced and is so complicated and both distrust the other but also care so much about esch other and there was tension and yearning but mistrust and omg such a loaded dance
The dance hall was SUCH a good idea. I always thought it would end up being in the tower or something, but in the end it was so much better.
The whispers and secrets muttered between cheek brushes and embraces? ???? Matt and Liam, you madmen, this is some next level 5 stars fanfiction dot com experience, I love it! I love their flair. I love this hopeless hope.
I feel like, everyone is saying „Astrid is his (Calebs) ex“, “she is his ex-girlfriend „ etc.
And I am a bit confused, because: to be ex partner you have to decide on both sides, that the relationship has stopped/has to stop.
Can someone pin out a point for me when Astris and Caleb stated they are ex lovers?
I just see them as: lovers, then one is in coma for a long time and after that gets lost in the woods and is now in reach again.
They did grow. But in what world does love stop just because of all that? In real live people awake from 10 year coma. Or more. The love to their families and friends is still the same. So why can’t Astrid and Caleb and Wulf have that? Why are they called „ex“?
Jester (about Astrid): Do you love her?
Caleb: I care about her but it doesn’t matter
Astrid ’it doesn’t matter’ Beck:
- has absolutely the most intimate moments with Caleb during their first meeting in 17 YEARS (touching his knee, cheek, holding his hand before letting him go out; also he being so gentle and intimate with her new scar)
- „You’re welcome anytime, Bren”
- looking at him constantly worried with yearning during The Dinner
- slowdances with him in possibly the most nostalgic place in whole Rexxentrum for them
- helps the Nein break into the Senatorium and gives them clues how to do it (also the fucking maps)
- warns the Nein in Nikodranas even though this being extremely dangerous to her
- „I’m not helping you. I’m helping him.”
- leting them go in the Tidepeak Tower
- warns them AGAIN about Trent knowing about their connection to the Dinasty and Volstrucker program spilling out
Yeah Caleb, she totally doesn’t care for you and is just a bad wizard
Like, I know she is exremely dangerous being the royal assasin but I feel like there is so much more to her and I want to see it.
Still hoping she will somehow find her way to Aeor (let’s go bisexual maelstrom)
