Jam session is canceled because the venue is taking covid seriously again, so one of the regulars invited us all to his house to play in the backyard in the 40 degree weather and I'm actually thinking about going

Today at session the guitarist started several tunes at a brisk heckin pace and I went with it like the speed whore I am

Bow trial is over. I do unfortunately like the expensive one lol damn it. I threw it in for kicks and didn’t expect to tell any difference but after trying five bows for a week they all feel/sound distinct to me. Also unfortunately, while the expensive one feels amazing and like i can put more little inflections here and there, it also sounds weirdly muted. So i rambled all this to the customer service lady and they are sending me a few more of the expensive one to try out and hopefully one will sound a little more compatible with my instrument.

Also fuck student loan payments starting again soon because that is actually affecting my decision and making me feel way worse about springing for a good bow, despite violin being one of the most important things in my life :))))

It’s nice when the bride is also a musician. We don’t have to explain things like how we need to be under a covered space for the outdoor ceremony. And she’s suggesting realistic tunes, and she actually put my suggestions on the list, too. My god this is refreshing

Today at rehearsal I didn't have the sheet music for a song so I was hunting for it on the band Google drive on my phone and then they were discussing the upcoming gigs and through cocktail party effect I hear my name like "... and we will mic Astro so the rest of the violins have a steady anchor" and then I dropped my phone

Got a wedding gig and I'm pretty excited about this excuse to learn a bunch of klezmer tunes 🎻
