I realized I haven't posted any fic at all this year and that bummed me out, so I wrote something small in my very, very first fandom, Andromeda. It was like visiting an old friend. (And trauma dumping on them) https://archiveofourown.org/works/74123161
acceptable ways to correct yourself if you misgender a trans person
“I went to the store with her–him”
“He and I–sorry she and I went to the movies”
“He’s–I mean they’re a big fan of Marvel Comics”

“She really likes–oh my god I mean he, I’m so sorry, I just don’t have it down yet, you need to give me time, I mean, I’m getting it, I promise, it’s just so hard sometimes, and I don’t even know where that came from, and I’m so sorry, I really didn’t mean to, you just have to go easy on me, I’ve never done this before, it’s just, I’m getting it, it won’t happen again, it’s just hard, you get it, right?”
Well yes salmon does have some fat in it! And it is good! Try and eat it with some carbs, like potatoes, or maybe blinis. Why not add some vegetables as well? Steamed brocolis, grilled leaks, roasted eggplant, and maybe some cream? That sounds delicious.

This is literally in three days and I'm just hearing about it and I'm across the country, but I'm actually thinking about going.
Folks who are in driving/bus/train distance to DC, please consider taking the time to join because seriously Congress needs to do their damn jobs and they're not going to unless they are pressured. I've been calling and emailing my senators and rep and hearing silence/party lines back, and I'm sick of it. They need to do their jobs.
genuinely being a tv enjoyer in this current time sucks balls because tv is trying to do what movies do and it makes it WORSE. the best part about tv is that you spend time with it consistently week after week year after year and now because tv shows are fractured and have the budget of major movies they're becoming shorter with way longer time between seasons and it hurts the one (at least to me) best thing about tv!! which is that it's reliable and consistent and has longevity because tv is a long form format!!! But it's being pushed into being made more short term like movies because of all these economic pressures and bonkers expectations. I'm sick of it!!! I'm sick of tv shows being acclaimed when they don't feel like tv shows as if that's a bad thing!!! I'm sick of waiting 2-4 years for 4-8 episodes. I'm sick of reading about the best writers in the business not being able to make a living. I'm sick of it!!!! I want tv back!!! I miss my friend tv!
We need a DS9 episode where strange occurrences keep happening at 3 am causing the main cast to have to get out of bed and investigate STILL in their pajamas. Also there is no power so they have to walk around with flashlights. also they think that it's ghosts. also i think that Odo should wear pjs too and it turns out he just materializes them at night to fit in.
An annotation about the Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, 2 Trump v. Anderson and Enforcement of the Insurrection Clause (Disqualification Cl
In reaching its decision in Trump v. Anderson, the U.S. Supreme Court observed that Congress enjoys power to enforce the Amendment through legislation pursuant to Section 5 of the Fourteenth Amendment, and reasoned that Section 5 grants Congress alone the authority to provide for the enforcement of Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates.
I'm sorry, why the fuck haven't we heard that Congress is doing this? What the fuck? They can literally still pull the plug on Trump taking office and they haven't?? What the fuck is wrong with them????
Backing up in case you have no idea what I'm talking about, you might recall that earlier this year, the State of Colorado did not want Trump on the ballot because he was disqualified from taking office per Amendment 14, Section 3, the insurrectionist clause:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Basically, no one who has engaged in an insurrection (it doesn't require a conviction, just that they took that action) can hold office again. The Supreme Court, in the ruling known as Trump v. Anderson, ruled that it was not up to the State of Colorado to decide who was on the ballot for a national position.
For some reason, everyone acted like that was the end of the discussion. Like the Fourteenth Amendment just evaporated or something. It's definitely still there and still applies! Right there on constitution.congress.gov, the Supreme Court said it's up to Congress! Not up to the State of Colorado, not up to the Supreme Court, but Congress!
I was in the middle of writing a letter to my senators begging them to please consider Amendment 14, Section 3, and was looking up the primary source to quote in my pathetic desperate last plea for democracy. I didn't know the ruling was added on right there and a huge neon sign that Congress is in fact being a limp sack of rollover shit for not doing their damn jobs jesus fuck it literally fucking says they can put a stop to this shit and the Supreme Court and MAGA can die mad about it. In those exact words, more or less.
After I get my swear words out in this tumblr post, I will go edit my letter to be a good deal more angry at their lack of action, but also with a helping of reassurance that if they do the right thing and enforce the Constitution, they will have my unending support and praise, and I daresay I would not be alone in cheering them on.

Tell them they are fucking up but they can do something really really cool to make everyone's holiday a lot more cheerful: enforce Amendment 14, Section 3, just like the Supreme Court ruled that they can!
Two emails sent, just my rep to go. The worst part is scrolling through all the "what issue are you writing about?" options on the form and not seeing "Constitutional Crisis" or "Do your job you fucker." I ended up choosing "Civil liberties" on one and "Judiciary" on the other
