❤️ Which of your OCs is most like you? Which is the least?
Devi and Barachiel are both two major extensions of myself! Devi is like me in the “useless lesbian who loves blankets and tea” part and Barachiel is the part with a massive ego that’s just casually having a constant crisis in the corner lmao
🖤 Do you and your OCs have any backstory elements in common?
Given that it’s a fantasy story, not really? But I feel a certain kinship with Satyr bc we’re both moving out to sort of find an identitiy and a future outside of our families
Wrath for the Seven Sins Ask
Anonymous asked: For the Seven Sins ask : wrath, any question you want! (or all of them for that matter)
@astro-writing asked: Wrath, for the ask game?? :)
I was hoping to get this prompt lol
WRATH – explosive anger and refusal for forgiveness makes wrath a rather powerful problem
Which of your OC’s is the most vengeful? The most angry and unforgiving? Who will hunt you down to the ends of the earth just because you ate the last pudding cup?
Adler and Cassia. Both of them hold long grudges against those who’ve wronged them, and if you’re on their shit lists? God have mercy on your soul.
Adler’s wrath is more direct. You’ll know if she doesn’t like you, but she’ll never tell you why. To her it seems like a trivial thing to answer, especially if she wants you dead.
Cassia’s wrath, on the other hand, is more subdued, like a quiet fury. She hides her anger behind honeyed words and saccharine smiles, as a way to gain your trust. She draws her enemies in, surrounding herself with them, so that when her anger explodes, nothing will survive it’s wake.
Which of your OC’s is on a quest for revenge? Is that their main goal or are there other more important things?
Just answering this is kind of a spoiler, but it’s Adler again. Without revealing too much, her story begins with wanting revenge on someone, and is the reason for becoming an officer in Her Majesty’s Forces in the first place.
How well do your OC’s handle forgiveness? Who is able to let go of their anger, smile politely and walk away?
In order from most to least forgiving, it’d be: Deirdre, Eddie, Collin, Fredrick, Matt, Sloane, Katie, Elliot, then Adler.
Both Deirdre and Eddie are terrible at coping with anger. While they may forgive, they don’t forget. For Dee, she doesn’t like feeling angry, so she just pushes them aside and moves on. Of course, that just means everything is slowly bubbling up inside her, but she won’t let anyone else know. Eddie literally ignores his bad feelings. He’s the type to make light of his pain through humor and deflection, which comes across as an inability to be serious. He’ll forgive someone only so he can move on to something else.
How does Sin of Wrath play into your WIP? Is it important to your theme?
Revenge doesn’t become a major theme until book 2, which is when we get Adler and Eddie’s POV.
While Sloane and Fredrick’s journey’s are linked through their ongoing search for a sense of identity, Adler and Eddie offer insight to coping with loss. They’ve both lost multiple people they were close to as a result of Cassia’s regime, and have their own ways of dealing with it. Revenge is a major aspect of both their stories, and I’m excited to get to explore them!

[Send me some writeblr up-close questions!]
Yeah I said I would get to these yesterday but I got too busy oops~ Sorry about that, I’ll be answering these today! Thank you for the ask! ^^
💞 List 3 tropes that you feature in your WIPs and explain why they’re important to you as a person.
Oh stars, uhhhh. I’m pretty bad with tropes, I likely have millions of them that I just don’t know exist? So, I probably have tons that I included subconsciously because they’re important to me. Let’s see what I can scrounge up, though~
Found Family: Yes I find this is a very common one in the writeblr community but there’s good heckin’ reason. For me, this shows us hope, that those who perhaps don’t like their biological family, or don’t have one, can still find and enjoy the same comforts from having a healthy family (even if it’s a chaotic mess of one -u-), from friends (and maybe lovers too, hmmm) they find along their journeys. There’s also the example of siblings and family that have become very distant and possibly even hostile towards each other who manage to reconcile and form a better relationship despite past grievances.
You Are Not Alone: These are all about hope and stuff, I guess. Surprise, my writing is deeper than I thought. XD This trope pops up the most with Celestine and Dione, but it’s dramatically important for a few spoilery characters, as well. Of course, this somewhat goes hand-in-hand with the above one, but hey~
Not So Different: Big Important in OSS. I specifically use it to look at motivations and what leads people to be on different sides, when really... they just want the same things, maybe one or both are just not heading for the goal in the right way.
There’s likely a lot more, but those are what I can think of now. ^^’
💝 Are any of your OCs based off of people in your own life?
I typically base them on facets of my own personality rather than other people. I think the only character that has some basis in a close friend of mine is Xuân, since I had a lot of help developing her connection to Vietnamese culture through her help~
Personality-wise? Uhhh. Dione reminds me a little bit of one of my best friends, but that certainly wasn’t intentional. So, not really?
💓 Are any of the plot points in your WIPs inspired by real life events?
Considering it takes place in the 1700s, with magic and sirens and stuff, not... really...? Uhhh. There’s a part where Celestine climbs the main mast to get away from her fear and ends up getting stuck up there. That reminds me of how I got stuck 80 feet up in a treetop playground thing when I was a youngster, but that wasn’t likely the inspiration. I just wanted to make her more cat-like. (It also made sense in context.)
I mean, there’s also the whole point that the books takes place near or on the ocean, with a lot of the environment inspired by my own home environment, or from my roadtrips across the coast~
💝and/or ❤️?
❤️ Which of your OCs is most like you? Which is the least?
Most like me? Still Carmen I think. We have a lot of interests in common and the way our disabilities both affect us. The least would be...hm. Lucas probably? Or Harriet? Or no. Maybe Bobby actually? We don’t really share the same emotional...control? He has pretty bad anger issues. Also the way he talks and attitude is very pretentious which isn’t me at all.
💝 Are any of your OCs based off of people in your own life?
Yes! Almost all of them in fact! Everyone is mostly based off of people that have made a huge impact on my life. Lately, because of how much my characters have changed though, most of what they are based off of are those people’s names. Quite a few of my characters share those people’s middle names. Like Ann, Harriet, Jeffie, Amelia, Carmen’s parents, Amelia’s parents, Nicholas (though he’s being cut in the second draft) and Carmen (my middle name :p). The exceptions are Bobby, Finn, Ezra, Taya, Ava, Lucas, and Ro.
