12 april Astroconcert Aurora Borealis
Op zaterdag 12 april om 20.00 uur wordt in het kader van de Global Astronomy Month 2014 (#GAM2014) een Astroconcert gegeven door Stefano Giovanardi (verteller) en Angelina Yershova (muziek). Het Astroconcert heet Aurora Borealis, in het Nederlands het Noorderlicht, en het wordt gegeven op uitnodiging van de Astronomers Without Borders (AWB), waar Astroblog-auteur Daniela de Paulis ook deel van uitmaakt. Hier een beschrijving van het Astroconcert:
A magic event, yet real. A hypnotic, unforgettable vision. One of the most spectacular expressions of wonder in the universe. This is “Aurora Borealis”, and much more: blending a travel reportage, a science story and a live concert, it is an invitation to let one of the most captivating natural phenomena mesmerize the senses and the mind. The Astroconcert “Aurora Borealis” is the fruit of a collaboration between Stefano Giovanardi – astronomer at the Planetarium and Astronomical Museum of Rome – and composer and musician Angelina Yershova.The impressions of a journey toward an extreme territory, with icy temperatures and immense landscapes, take shape within a musical frame bringing new emotional meanings to the images of the northern lights. From the infernal power of huge solar eruptions to the delicate dance of the auroral lights, this Astroconcert draws an evocative knitting through space and time, between the earth and the sky, where knowledge regains the taste of wonder. The original images of the northern lights were shot by Stefano Giovanardi in Ivalo (Finland) and edited as time lapse sequences. The original soundtrack is composed and performed live by Angelina Yershova (piano, live electronics, voice).
