I'm a new phannie, all right? I'm enjoying Dan and Phil content, listening to the podcast, watching older videos, getting emotionally invested, yadda yadda.

But I've been a Nerdfighter for like 16 years. I was at the TATWD and AART book tours in college. I have seven signed books of theirs. I remember the origin story of fishingboatproceeds. I've got half a dozen Pizza John tshirts and a lot of Pizzamas merch, including a Pizza John onion Shrek sticker and a shot glass. So every time Dan or Phil mentions Hank or John Green, or I'm watching Dan's "Why I Quit YouTube" video for the first time and THIS CROPS UP IN THE COMMENTS

Hank Green’s video on his childhood diagnosis process is such an interesting case study at how the process of diagnosing developmental disabilities in children has changed over time, and how—while these disabilities describe very real struggles people have—the way we construct and categorize them often masks the blurry boundaries between them.

Also I feel like I so rarely see people talk about the childhood diagnosis process and special education system and what that experience is like for a kid. Maaan I relate to his comments on handwriting. I really struggled with that as a kid and I’m still insecure about mine.

I could probably write a whole essay on this video tbh.
