A-Z Challenge GAME 1
Based on poll results, A is gonna be the first game, and this challenge can include games I’ve started but haven’t finished, as well as games I haven’t tried yet.
Here's the game options I'm looking at for my first playthrough, to start some time this week (no time frame for the challenge, cause I have a job and that does kinda stop me from playing several games on the clock - though not all games, some games work great at work). Descriptions of the options (ft trailers and tags) below the cut.
where to start?
Acolyte (sci-fi detective game with ai assistant interface, ~7.5 hrs)
Alt-Frequencies (narrative game tuning radios, ~2.5 hrs)
[for achievements] Afterparty (dialogue-based comedy in literal hell, ~14 hrs)
[FINISH] A Musical Story (artsy funk rhythm game, ~4 hrs)
[FINISH] Astrologaster (cyoa comedy advising the humors, ~7 hrs)
Trying out Astrologaster for an hour
Just an honest doctor-astrologist trying to make a living in a world where THE MAN says you can't be a doctor without a license. Like their fancy "medical science" knows better than the stars!
Astrologaster (2019)
Each MBTI type as one of the 50 games I’ve played since May
ENFJ: Arcade Spirits
ENFP: The Rainsdowne Players
ENTJ: Paradise Killer
ENTP: Broken Minds
ESFJ: Elsinore
ESFP: Ikenfell
ESTJ: Contradiction
ESTP: 80 Days
INFJ: Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass
INFP: Astrologaster
INTJ: Lamplight City
INTP: The Darkside Detective
ISFJ: The Banner Saga
ISFP: Celeste
ISTJ: Detective Di: The Silk Rose Murders
ISTP: Unforeseen Incidents
Of course I’m going to do this again if I reach 100.
Just a handful of the games I’m super excited to play off of the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality on itch.io, there’s well over 50 I want to play at some point lol. Minimum donation of $5 for 1000+ games, all proceeds are split between the NAACP and community bail funds. There’s only 2 days left (as of 6/13) if you would like to donate and get a bunch of great indie games!
Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game with a very particular description that CATER to my OWN SPECIFIC interests, so here we go.
what to expect from ASTROLOGASTER (this is from the itch.io justice bundle!)
You play as Simon, an astrologer that uses stars reading to cure people (finding out what is their illness)
The game has beautiful drawing and you play it like a book.
There is voiced dialogue and each character and scene is introduced with a song
Elizabethan England
The game works like this: you need the approval of your clients to become an actual doctor, and you meet different people
You read the stars which give you different options, ex. “You have indigestion”, “You are pregnant” etc.
You choose one and the client is happy/angry at you. Sometimes you can actually give them the truth, sometimes it might be more beneficial for Simon to lie to them
Simon is not a good character! He is kind of a jerk, so expect to hare him!
Some amazing secondary female characters
Different consequences and things happening based on your choices
plot? You have to get enough experience and letters of recommendations to become an actual doctor gameplay? choosing different diagnosis Characters? A lot!! Each recurring character (patients) is very well written and has some hints and secrets that you will have to uncover (and will be able to uncover... or not)
