Yo, so I saw the post about black dwarves. So 1) heat is energy, so how can it not be light? 2) Really my main question is, what is that remaining mass made of, elementally?
1) It is still light, it just isn’t producing light in the same way stars usually do! Stars on the main sequence produce light through nuclear fusion. The gravitational pressure within stars squishes elements together to make bigger elements, and energy in the form of light particles (photons) are emitted
2) Elementally black dwarves are carbon, in a pretty crystalline stucture. Something like coal or graphite or diamond. Get a ring with that stone ;) you’ll be the talk of the universe
