Why this show is on my list isn't the question. The question is how did I and countless other fans survive the 2 YEAR HIATUS... Well tumblr can show you how that went down... because it didn't go down that well. If you haven't climbed aboard this hearse well you have T-Minus less then 24 hours to catch up and of course re-watch like good fans do- over and over and over again!

Okay, so when this show was first advertising I was like "uhhhhh... ewwww what a lame name and there is just to much vamp crap everywhere." Well, fast forward a few months from that statement and as usual I am procrastinating except these are my freshman winter finales at college ( yah bad idea I know) and this seemingly guilty pleasure is starting to look good. Honestly, I tell everyone to watch it now ha! I have been watching this show since the mid season finale of season one. The very first half of the first episode is painfully awful but, the minute that ends its just fireworks! (mainly because, they eventually dropped the angsty inner monologues of the characters diary writings...even though fans of the books love that part I think it translates poorly on the screen) The writers of this show took crappy books and made the show outshine them! Great producers and writers make this show its own entity from twilight and TrueBlood. All of the twist and turns make sense and still leave the audience breathless. Caroline, Elijah and Damon are my favorite characters by far.
Now its one of CWs most successful shows and season five starts the 3rd with its spinoff series The Originals. The lines are great, the drama and its one of the few shows not afraid to kill off main characters. Death, love, betrayl, family, loyalty, and piles of crappy situations makes this show not a guilty pleasure but, in fact a true pleasure to watch.
