".. you talk like I never do," which, truthfully, was a fair assumption on Asumyn's part-- but it wasn't as though Nimbra would willingly admit that. "I just do things in my own way. It's hard for me to sit still most of the time."

To get to the bottom of what was going on at present.. that was what she wanted, regardless if anyone thought it was beneficial to her wellbeing. Besides, to ask the rest of the group to accompany her was already making Nimbra feel more selfish than she could put into words.

I heard you coming up the stairs about a minute ago," while Asumyn wasn't in plain view, it was clear to the rogue where she was currently hiding-- just behind the wardrobe closest to their inn room door. The opalescent strands of hair sticking out from around the corner certainly weren't helping her keep her cover, either.

"I could teach you how to properly do that, you know.." shifting on her bed, Crow hopped from the headrest until he nestled on her shoulder. ".. unless you wanted something else."

The force of Asumyn's entire being nearly takes Nimbra out; bracing herself by putting her hands on the triton's shoulders as her blue speckled arms ensnare the tiefling around the neck. She teeters momentarily, making sure they both don't go careening towards the ground, before she sighs.

But she doesn't push Asumyn away. On the contrary, Nimbra wraps her arms around her friend in return; albeit in a much more gentle, trepidatious way. It wasn't something she once would be able to do very easily, but nowadays, Nimbra found herself more open to affection like this.. though always preferred when it wasn't quite this physical.

Still, maybe that had something to do with Asumyn herself. Nimbra could still remember when they first met, when the younger girl held her hand in a moment of weakness. Even after all this time, it was a gesture that still meant a great deal to her.

"Alright, alright-- get off of me already."

.. she couldn't quite say that as bluntly as she wanted to, though, with the way Asumyn was looking at her. With everything that was happening lately, she was probably worried.. an an answer like that would only make it worse.

to her knowledge, nimbra has never been in love. sure, she has loved and cared for people, but it's never necessarily been romantic. even the experiences she has had have been nothing more than fleeting, and not anything she's ever thought about for more than a day. however, in the more recent parts of her life..

she isn't.. sure, really. she's terrified. it's something so unfamiliar to her, so overpowering, even if it isn't quite love yet. however, it does make her feel similarly to the way she feels about her friends: that despite how scary it feels, how horrified she is to let her walls down, and to be open with someone.. it's something she wants to experience. something she wants to learn how to do, to let herself be vulnerable; because she wants that other person to feel the same way about her. to know that no matter their past, no matter what they've gone through in their life, who they are now is what's most important to her. she wants to show them support, to be the person they go to when the world is against them; and she truly wants that person to be that for her, too.

great question! probably a while, considering.. that's not something she's said to anyone in a really long time!

she would tell her parents all the time-- and rose was probably the only person she would have said it to in the guild.. then of course, there's crow. it's easy to say it to him, but it's not something that needs to be said. she knows they love one another through their bond, and the actions they show one another-- and i think, more than anything, that's how she would "say" it first.

through physical touch, from a pat on the head, from a hand holding another's. nimbra is definitely more of a "actions speak louder than words" sort of person, but she would absolutely take the effort to say it when she could. she wouldn't want her partner to feel like that wasn't how she felt, she's just learning to be vulnerable. but again, that's something she hopes to learn how to be with that person.
