Because of its chic matte good finish and top of the line features, I am officially loving my first Android experience with the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser. Aside from having a 5.5" display, the model also boasts of having a 13-megapixel camera with a dual LED flash and a (wait for it) laser guided autofocus feature. This phone definitely will be taking my everyday shots to a whole new level! #ZenFone2 #ZenFoneLaser #SeeWhatOthersCantSee #asuszenfone2 #AsusPhilippines
Looking for an all-around phone that performs great especially when taking photos? The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 may very well be the device you're looking for. Know all about it at http://www.chuckiedreyfus.ph. #ZenFone #SeeWhatOthersCantSee #ZenFoneLaser #ASUSPhilippines
Christmas came a whole lot earlier for me when I received a surprise package this month. Santa probably noticed that I have been a very good girl this year so he sent me my new ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 as an early Christmas present. I do not really buy new smartphones too often so I was really happy to have a new toy to play with. My digital camera also runs out of battery quite fast so it’s good to have a reliable backup camera during my blogging activities that is easily accessible and takes beautiful photos in a snap.
The ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 5.0 (ZE500KL) is a very affordable do-it-all smartphone that is so easy and convenient to use but packs all necessary functions and performances in a stylish and compact design. Powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 410 processor and equipped with 2GB of RAM, it has an 8-Megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture lens and a Laser Auto Focus system that zooms on the target in as fast as 0.3 seconds. That means no need to wait for the screen to focus when you are hurriedly trying to capture that picture-perfect moment. That is not just fast, it is Laser-fast.
The Zenfone 2 Laser is actually an upgrade from the Zenfone 5 model released in 2014. This latest model packs more power and features across the board at a minimal increase in retail price, so it really a great smartphone that is useful for any occasion.
I was so excited to unbox my new ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser which comes in this simple and compact package. The phone comes with a USB cable, a charger, earphones and earplugs. That’s all you need to start your Zenfone adventure.
Zen means a balance of beauty and strength and this is how the Zenfone presents itself. It features a 5.0-inch (720x1280 pixels) high-density IPS display and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which offers vibrant colors, good brightness levels and wide viewing angles up to 178 degrees. The Corning Gorilla Glass 4 offers outstanding screen protection, featuring twice the drop-damage resistance of its predecessor, making it safer and stronger than ever before. The phone has Dual Sim capabilities and 16GB eMMC Flash storage which can be expanded up to 128GM with a MicroSD card. It also features LTE Category 4 for download speeds up to 150Mbps, well, assuming you can get that speed with your mobile service providers. Call quality is also good with the ASUS Noise Zero Talk Technology that helps eliminate background echo and reduce noise for crystal clear speech.
This is the first time for me to see ASUS’s trademark concentric circle design which is carried on most of their other product lines. This is a unique and delicate design that differentiates the brand from other smartphone makers which mostly have the same look and feel. Watching how the light reflects on these concentric circles is actually a Zen-like experience in itself.
The ZenFone 2 Laser is available in six striking colors to reflect your personality and mood. I really like the Sheer Gold color that my Zenfone 2 Laser came in but you can also choose from Osmium Black, Glacier Gray, Glamour Red, Ceramic White and Twilight Purple.
The Zenfone 2 Laser’s 2070 mAh Li-Polymer battery gives amazing battery life that can last up to 13 hours even with usage on 3G and Wi-Fi. I have been bringing along my Zenfone with me on my blog events and using it to take pictures and upload images on Instagram but it was still going strong after two days. Less charging time means less worries and hassle for me.
With its curved back and thinnest edge measuring an incredibly slim 3.5mm, it is designed to be very comfortable to hold without sacrificing style. It is very light at only 140 grams so you can slip this inside your pocket or handbag almost without any additional weight.
Look at the back of the phone and you will see a few more surprises. The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser has an Ergonomic Arc design making it very easy to hold. The back cover features an exquisite hairline design with a shiny metallic finish. It also incorporates a special rear key and a highly-intuitive control layout, making the design smooth and flawless.
The most interesting feature here is the rear key which provides the most intuitive way of using the smartphone. We often hold our phones with our index finger at the back for support. Now, we can do multiple functions on the phone using just one hand more easily with this ingenious design. Snapping selfies and adjusting the volume now feels more natural with this efficient placement.
Here is my first selfie using the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser! No filters are needed at all as the 5-Megapixel front camera with PixelMaster technology provides all the camera power I need.

The Zenfone 2 Laser is the first smartphone in its price range to have an 8-Megapixel camera on the back guided with a laser auto-focus. The f/2.0-aperture Toshiba lens manages to focus the subject in a snap and delivers shots with excellent detail, saturation and contrast levels in day-light conditions. The infrared laser measures distances at lightning speed which means near-instant focus as fast as only 0.3 seconds.
Combine this with the unique ZenMotion touch gesture of the ASUS Zenfone, where you simply swipe the letter “C” on the screen to open the Camera App even when the phone is on standby mode, and this is truly the fastest and most lightning-quick way ever to take a photo. Waking up the Zenfone is also so easy just by double tapping the screen. There are also other default swipe gestures to quick launch different apps like “W” to launch the browser, “S” for Messages, and “O” for Calendar.
Aside from the camera’s Auto Mode, there are many other settings that you can experiment and play around with to capture the best looking picture. The Beautification Mode provides real-time skin softening, skin brightening, blush, eyes enhance, cheek thinning and color correction, perfect for us girls who want to upload their best selfies on Instagram. The Super Resolution mode uses a special Multiframe Fusion technology to create incredibly-detailed photos by capturing and combining four 13MP photos to create a single image with exceptional clarity - a super resolution equivalent up to 52MP!
Since I’m a food and lifestyle blogger, most of the pictures I take are food shots. I brought the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser with me during the past few weeks and took some shots using its camera. The photo quality is actually good enough to post on my blog and you wouldn’t know the difference between shots taken with my digital camera and the Zenfone. Here are a few shots using the Zenfone in Auto Mode.

The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser also has a Depth of Field Mode where you can choose how blurred the background would be to create a higher depth of field effect. What’s great is that you can choose how much the effect will be AFTER you take the picture so you can decide between the range. The shot on the left is the option with the least effect while the one on the right has the maximum effect. This gives you total control on the final outcome of the photo.
The Panorama Mode is also another great feature. With this special wide-angle mode with 85-degree field of view, you can even capture panoramic selfies to up to 140 degrees. Snap yourself and all your friends together, or better yet, take a shot of the entire dessert table at Vikings Luxury Buffet and it will still fit the screen!
Shooting images on dim light conditions are really difficult when you cannot use your flash. But with the ASUS PixelMaster’s Low Light Mode and laser auto-focus, you can now capture images that you normally would not even see clearly on an ordinary camera or smartphone. Through a combination of pixel-merging technology, which joins four adjacent pixels to form a new pixel, and advanced image-processing algorithms, Low Light mode increases light sensitivity by up to 400% for clear and bright low-light shots with no need for flash. Look at the difference when shooting this figurine on Auto Mode and on Low Light Mode.
I even tried the powers of Low Light Mode at home inside a very dark room. Surprise! You can really #SeeWhatOthersCantSee using the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser!
ZenFone 2 Laser’s SonicMaster 2.0 technology also delivers crystal-clear audio whether you are on headphones or speakers. You will experience richer and more detailed audio when listening to your favorite love songs or dancing to the latest hits.
A very useful feature for families is the Kids Mode which provides a safe playground for youngsters as it allows you to easily manage applications for your kids by allowing only certain apps. You can even set how much time they can use the phone as well as blocking certain calls and setting a passcode for answering calls.
I now have a new partner that I can bring along with me everyday for work or for play. The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 has a retail price of P7,295. It is also available in a 5.5-inch model that retails for P8,695. So if you are looking for an affordable and stylish smartphone that is loaded with features and functions, then go get the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser. Visit the ASUS website for more details and further specifications.
Zenfone 2 Laser is one of the latest smartphones from the ASUS Zenfone series. It exhibits a 5.5 inch display, 2GB of RAM, Snapdragon 410 processor, 5mp front camera, 13mp rear camera with Laser autofocus and dual-ton LED flash.
This smartphone is crafted very thinly at the sides and goes curved at the back which makes it easier and secure to hold. The volume buttons are situated at the back below the camera which can be used in taking a selfie.

Zenfone 2 Laser’s new rear camera is designed with Laser autofocus technology for the fastest clarity. The 13mp rear camera is amazing in low-light and HDR. In low-light, the light sensitivity is boosted up to 400% and reduces noise without the aid of the flash.
Priced at around Php 9,000.00 here in the PH, the Zenfone 2 Laser is a promising phone with a 13mp camera, the Laser autofocus, a wide HD display, the fastest processor. It’s all worth the price.
