The Biggest Oktoberfest Celebration in the Country Returns at Solaire Resort With Oktoberfest 2026
Solaire Resort Entertainment City and the German Club of the Philippines is bringing back the biggest and the only authentic Oktoberfest in the country! Oktoberfest 2026 will be happening from October 8 to 10, 2026 at the Solaire Resort Grand Ballroom. The 86th edition of this annual German festival once again comes alive with free-flowing German beers, endless German meat and sausages, plus non-stop music and entertainment all throughout the evening.
It’s still June but Solaire Resort and Casino is launching Oktoberfest early with their exclusive media preview last week for Oktoberfest 2026. The Hungry Kat was invited to join this annual festivity highlighting German culture and cuisine. Early bird ticket sales for both individual and corporate guests are now available at www.oktoberfest.ph starting at P4200 per person. Book your seats early and be part of the biggest Oktoberfest celebration in the country.
The Solaire Grand Ballroom will once again be transformed into a colorful and expansive Biergarten for the most authentic beer festival in the country. We were there last year for Oktoberfest 2025 and it couldn't be more exciting and enjoyable. Guests can indulge in an endless stretch of sumptuous Bavarian feast, unlimited free flow Hofbräu Beer, German traditions and exciting raffle prizes.
Experience an authentic Bavarian lifestyle and get a feel of the festive atmosphere of Hofbräuhaus München, the iconic flagship beer hall of Hofbräu which is the official beer for Oktoberfest. Feel the energy, flavor, and flair of true Bavarian culture and raise your stein for this grand celebration. Guests can even come in their best Oktoberfest attire to get a more authentic German experience.
The media preview for Oktoberfest 2026 was held last June 4, 2026 at the Solaire Pool Bar and Grill in Solaire Resort Entertainment City.
Michael Scheile, the host and Oktoberfest Chairman, gave media guests a brief history of Oktoberfest and a small preview of the revelry and celebrations that will happen during Oktoberfest 2026. Founded in 1906, the German Club Manila is a warm, welcoming space for international members and guests. With the German Club of the Philippines handling the program and the dance activities, everyone is sure to have a fabulous time.
Guests can order any of the Bavarian specialties and beverages on the special Oktoberfest menu. These all have unlimited servings so you can eat and drink as much as you want. Try the Imperial Spritz which comes in alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions.
There's also the Rosé Wine Slush which is a frozen version of the rosé. You can also choose from several wines, sodas, fresh juices, and chilled juices.
Of course, the main attraction here are the beers. Oktoberfest at Solaire lets you enjoy authentic traditional Bavarian cuisine prepared by their German chef along with free-flowing beer from the historic royal brewery of Munich, Hofbräu. As for the food, start the feast with your favorite Bavarian delicacies served family-style in each beer garden table. There is the Brotkorb (breadbasket), an essential centerpiece filled with oven-fresh German breads, and the Laugenbrezel which is a Bavarian-style soft pretzel.
There’s plenty of choices from the Wiesen Jause platter which is filled with German cold cuts and cheeses. These include landjager, Black Forest ham, forest ham, meatloaf, liver spread, mountain cheese, Bavaria blu, obatzda, beer radish, and red raddish.
Other appetizers include the Münchner Wurstsalat or Munich-style sausage salad, Kartoffelsalat or German potato salad, and Krautsalad or white cabbage salad. These dishes create a hearty and authentic spread for all to enjoy.
I really liked the Räucherlachs Hausfrauenart which is German-style smoked salmon mixd with sour cream, green apple, and pickled cucumber. I think I finished an entire plate by myself.
The special guest for the afternoon was the German Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke. This year’s celebration will be held for three consecutive nights from October 8-10 and it is expected to welcome over 6,000 guests for three nights of true German celebration.
Now it's time to sample some of the main courses at Oktoberfest 2026. A German feast is never complete without sausages, so Solaire lets guests have all the sausages they want. This includes the Weisswurst, a Munich-style poached veal and pork sausage served with oven-fresh pretzel and sweet mustard.
Order the Homemade Sausage Sampler to get a taste of the Rostbratwurst, a grilled coarse pork sausage that is full of flavors. It also comes with Frankfurter and is served with potato salad, sauerkraut, and roasted potatoes.
Party-goers can also delve in a hearty Rindsgulasch or beef goulash, with classic braised beef ragout served with bread dumplings and red cabbage.
If you want to try everything in one plate, go for the Bavarian Meat Platter which comes with crispy pork knuckles, pork schnitzel, pork sausage, meatloaf, rotisserie chicken, and onion jus. You can also choose to order these meat items individually.
For desserts, guests can enjoy classic delights like the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte or Black Forest Cake. This is a traditional cake which originated in Germany and is very popular worldwide.
Other choices include the Apfelstrudel or classic apple and walnut strudel with vanilla sauce and ice cream. There's also the Kaiserschmarrn which has shredded caramelized pancake, rum raisin, berry compote and vanilla sauce. These treats promise sweet and memorable experiences for everyone.
Oktoberfest 2026 will be full of activities and lively entertainment. It will start with a parade of beer-carrying servers together with the Bavarian Sound Express who will once again bring musical delight to the evening’s colorful festivities. Then there's the Tapping of the Barrel. Since 1950, as tradition, the Mayor will tap the first keg and will then shout “O’zapft ist!” meaning “it is tapped!”. This will then signal the start of the non-stop beer drinking and dancing for the Oktoberfest guests.
To get a feel of the Oktoberfest celebration, the media guests were asked to participate in the traditional Oktoberfest dance. We've done this a few times already but it is still always a fun activity to do.
Then there's the Beer Drinking Competition which can be joined by anyone willing to show their drinking skills. The host encouraged me to join that afternoon so I had to show the girls how it is done. I won the challenge!
Exciting prizes await the winners and guests during Oktoberfest 2026 which will also include a raffle (tickets sold separately). Would you believe I actually won the main prize for the evening last year? I got a festive Solaire Christmas Hamper voucher for an Ultimate Royal Experience worth P26,888!
We would like to thank Melissa Roxanne Lopez, Manager for PR and Communications at Solaire Resort Entertainement City for inviting us to the media preview of Oktoberfest 2026. This year's party promises to be the biggest one yet so make sure to purchase your Oktoberfest 2026 tickets early at www.oktoberfest.ph.

Chef J. Gamboa is Philippines' New Lambassador of Australian Lamb
Award-winning Chef J. Gamboa has been officially named as country's newest Lambassador, a role dedicated to championing the quality, versatility and growing appeal of Australian Lamb among Filipino chefs and consumers. The official announcement was made during an intimate press lunch held at Cirkulo Restaurant last May 7, 2026 which was attended by key media and industry partners.
Cirkulo is part of the Milky Way Restaurant Group which is owned and operated by Chef J. Gamboa's family. This also includes Milky Way Cafe, AzuThai and Tsukiji Japanese Restaurant which you can all find inside this building along Arnaiz Avenue in Makati City. The Hungry Kat was one of the invited media guests for the afternoon's big reveal so we were excited to head to the Milky Way building once again to join this festive occasion.
The Lambassador program is part of ongoing efforts to build greater awareness and appreciation for Australian lamb in the Philippines through chef led advocacy and consumer engagement. Australian lamb is globally recognized for its high standards in food safety, natural production systems and consistent eating quality. Through chef-led advocacy, the Lambassador program aims to bridge the gap between product awareness and actual menu adoption.
Cirkulo is a 2026 Michelin Selected restaurant which has been serving its loyal patrons for over 30 years. It first opened its iconic red, round doors in August 1995, introducing Manila to a vibrant selection of tapas, sangrias, and a playful approach to dining. Under the management of siblings Malu Gamboa Lindo and Chef J. Gamboa, Cirkulo has preserved its Spanish favorites and is well know for their signature dishes such as the Suckling Pig Sisig, Slow Roasted U.S. Beef Belly and the Paella Montana. They are open daily from 11:30am to 2:00pm and from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.
The interiors are designed by Vickie and Luigi Antonio and exude a cosmopolitan yet warm atmosphere. The dining room is adorned with collages by National Artist Arturo Luz, abstracts by Lao Lianben, photographs by Ava Lugtu, and unique matador hat lights from the original design by Ramon Castellanos. The floors are crafted from 60-year-old supa wood, restored from old bowling lanes.
We were seated with our good friend Justin Yap together with other friends from the media and blogging community. Guests were welcomed with glasses of Cava Sangria and Iced Tea before the start of the program.
As the new Philippines Lambassador, Chef J. Gamboa will lead initiatives focused on elevating lamb in the Filipino dining experience and making it more accessible in the local market. "I've been a big fan of Australian Lamb since we opened Cirkulo in 1995. Through the years Australian lamb has always been guest favorites on our menu. I'm honored to be a Lambassador and happy to share and promote our Australian Lamb and beef dishes with our guests."
Meat & Livestock Australia Regional Manager for Southeast Asia, Valeska also welcomed Chef Gamboa to the group. "Chef J. represents the best of what we look for in a Lambassador - culinary excellence, strong industry influence and a genuine passion for quality ingredients. We welcome him to the global Lambassador club." Chef J. Gamboa will lead a series of engagements including chef collaborations, menu development initiatives and consumer-facing activities designed to make lamb more accessible and relevant in the local market.
Now it was time to sample some of the delicious lamb and beef dishes that Chef J. Gamboa had prepared for the guests. We started with the Tartar de Buey which comes with Australian beef tenderloin, capers, shallots, roasted bone marrow, and served with toasted brioche. Despite being served raw, I liked the deep flavors of the tartare which was seasoned well.
Cirkulo also featured some of their other appetizers like the Bolas de Queso. These are crispy Grana Padano cheese balls which are crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy inside.
The Potato "Carbonara" Omelette is an upgrade over the standard omelette dish we usually have. This egg omelette comes mixed with potatoes, pancetta, cream, and Grana Padado Italian cheese.
One of the best starters we had was the Slow Roasted Australian Lamb Shortribs which is cooked with garlic, pepper, sea salt, olive oil, and fresh lemon. The meat was quite tender and I didn't taste any of the gamey flavors from the lamb.
We also has a salad course, the Insulate Di Gorgonzola. This comes with Lolorosa, Granny Smith apples, gorgonzola, walnuts, pickled carrots, radish, and apple vinaigrette.
Chef Gamboa also gave us a few surprise dishes that were not on the menu for that afternoon. The Roasted Bone Marrow and Beef “Mole Asado” was obviously my favorite. It is served with toasted brioche and sea salt.
Get a spoonful of the bone marrow and slather it on the toasted bun then bite away. This was so good but I had to control myself from eating too much of this sinful dish.
We also had a taste of their meaty Kebabs which were served with hummus and vegetables.
After all those appetizers, it was finally time for our main courses. The Cordero Lechal Asado is an oven roasted Australian suckling lamb prepared with rosemary, garlic, and chimichurri sauce. This was a very different way of enjoying lamb and it was the first time for me to see it prepared this way.
Another exciting lamb dish is the Lamb Shank Ossobucco. Unlike the traditional version with veal, this uses red wine braised Australian lamb shanks and is cooked with lemon gremolata until very tender.
The main highlight of our menu was the Chuleta De Lomo Alto Con Hueso, a huge charcoal grilled bone in Stanbroke Farms Australian Ribeye (800 grams) served with roasted vegetables and thyme salt.
This is prepared in their custom Josper oven so the result is a perfectly cooked medium doneness ribeye steak that everyone really enjoyed.
We can't have a Spanish meal without paella, right? The Paella Montaña comes with Portobella mushrooms, whole roasted garlic, asparagus, and truffle oil. This was a great compliment to all our meaty lamb and beef main courses.
To cap off our lamb feast, guests were served two special desserts. The Warm Dark Chocolate Truffle Cake with Liquid Center comes with a gooey molten lava filling and is served with raspberry coulis and fresh oranges plus a scoop of Vanilla ice cream.
On the other hand, there is also the Warm White Chocolate Bread Pudding with bourbon cream sauce topped with Vanilla ice cream. Both desserts were a great way to end our afternoon at Cirkulo.
We would like to thank Lambassador Chef J. Gamboa and Spanky Enriquez for hosting our lovely press lunch at Cirkulo. It was a great way to experience these unique lamb dishes that more Filipinos should be able to try. Congratulations Chef Gamboa on your new role and we hope to catch up with you again really soon.

CHAGEE Marks International Tea Day with an Invitation to Explore the Beauty of Tea
Tea is something most Filipinos have known their whole lives. It is in our mornings, our conversations, our quieter moments. While it feels familiar, there is so much more to learn about tea: the regions it comes from, the seasons that shape it, the generations of craft that bring it to the cup. This May, CHAGEE invites you to explore the world of tea making. To welcome International Tea Day on May 21, CHAGEE Philippines is marking the occasion with a new jasmine oolong tea, and a series of experiences designed to bring people genuinely closer to tea culture. On May 8, CHAGEE introduces the BO·YA Jasmine Tieguanyin Tea series, the newest addition to its BO·YA Jasmine series.
The BO·YA name carries a two-thousand-year-old story of genuine connection that echoes through the ages, featuring Boya, a master musician whose playing was so deeply felt that only one person, a humble woodcutter named Ziqi, could fully understand it. Their bond became one of Chinese culture's most enduring expressions of genuine connection: the idea that something made with real honesty will always find the people who appreciate it. It is a hope that runs through every cup in the BO·YA series: That somewhere out there, for every blend crafted with care, there is someone who will pick it up, take a sip, and simply understand. The new drink opens with a gentle front note of jasmine before the distinct orchid character of Tieguanyin, a prized variety of oolong, slowly follows. This builds the first sip into a taste that is floral, layered, and quietly complex. The Tieguanyin oolong base is sourced from the high-altitude gardens of Southern Fujian, China, while the jasmine flowers come from Hengxian in Guangxi, known in the world for producing jasmine of exceptional quality and lasting fragrance.
Alongside the new drink, CHAGEE has designed a small collection of tea-inspired merchandise for the season, including a Tea-Scented Charm, a Tea Icons Keychain, and the Tea Roots Tumbler, each drawing from the natural elements and imagery behind CHAGEE's teas. Selected merchandise will be available bundled with BO·YA Family drinks in-store during the launch period. And for those who want to go a little deeper, CHAGEE will also be releasing a specially curated publication dedicated to the culture and heritage of tea, available at select stores from May 21. More details to follow closer to International Tea Day. To fully immerse Pinoy tea lovers in the process of tea-making, CHAGEE will launch a Sip and Learn Tea Workshop on May 11, where invited guests will be guided by a Tea Master through the aromas, flavours, and stories that make a great cup of tea. It will be a first step, and an intentional one: a reminder that the story of tea is best experienced in person, and that there is more to come for those who are curious. A second session – which the public can join by signing up through the CHAGEE app – will follow at SM North EDSA on May 21, and a final session at Robinsons Galleria on June 6, so there are plenty of opportunities to take part throughout the season.
On International Tea Day itself, CHAGEE is also inviting Filipinos to slow down and take a real tea break. From May 18 to 21, during meryenda time at 3 PM, the first 100 customers at every CHAGEE Philippines store can claim a complimentary Regular BO·YA Jasmine Tieguanyin Milk Tea. It is CHAGEE's way of marking the day simply and sincerely: with a good cup of tea, shared with as many people as possible.
"Most people drink tea every day, and that is exactly why we think it is worth pausing to understand it a little better," said Philip Dee, Tea Master at CHAGEE Philippines. "When you stop and look closely, what you find is extraordinary. Centuries of knowledge, farmers who understand their soil the way musicians understand their instruments, and a quiet kind of craft that most of the world never gets to see. International Tea Day is a meaningful reminder of all of that, and an invitation for all of us to slow down, pay attention, and discover what has always been in the cup."
CHAGEE's International Tea Day offerings are available across all Philippine stores from May 8. For those who have ever been curious about what makes a great cup of tea, this May is a good time to find out. For more information, visit CHAGEE Philippines FB, IG, TikTok, or download the CHAGEE App.
Parisian Brunch at Bistrot Le Coucou: A Refined Midday Experience
Bistrot Le Coucou is letting everyone experience the best Paris dining experience with the launch of its Parisian Brunch Menu. Eating out in Paris is always a relaxing and cherished occasion, especially with its fabled al fresco restaurants and with the Eiffel Tower looming in the background. Manila foodies can now have the same experience as Bistrot Le Coucou offers a curated midday menu featuring elevated French-inspired comfort dishes, perfect for business lunches, casual meetings, or leisurely afternoons.
Bistrot Le Coucou is a charming and refined French bistro in Bonifacio Global City that celebrates the art of fine food. You can find it on the second floor of One Bonifacio High Street at the veranda area, just beside its sister restaurant NIKKEI. The Hungry Kat was invited to try out their Parisian Brunch menu so we went there last week to enjoy a leisurely Parisian brunch date.
The Parisian Brunch menu is available daily from 12:00pm to 3:00pm during Mondays to Thursdays and 11:00am to 3:00pm from Fridays to Sundays. Bistrot Le Coucou is quite charming, with elegant seats and tableware accompanying its bright-lit interiors. There are plenty of dining areas to choose from, whether you are having a casual brunch date or just staying for some cocktails over at the bar.
Bistrot Le Coucou also functions as a wine bar with its carefully curated selection of fine wines that can be purchased to be enjoyed at the bistro or at home. A semi-private dining room is available which can be reserved for small groups and special occasions.
Designed for both productivity and relaxation, the Parisian Brunch offers guests a refined yet approachable midday dining experience. The menu highlights indulgent favorites including the Smoked Salmon Flatbread, Croque Monsieur, Croque Madame, French-Style Mac and Cheese, Lobster Roll, and Golden White Chocolate French Toast.
Complimentary breads and butter are served on each table. The bread was freshly baked and was a good appetizer while waiting for our orders to arrive.
We ordered some of their specialty cocktails to accompany our brunch date. The Le Fleur (P480) comes with a combination of Jose Cuervo Gold tequila, lemon juice, elderflower liqueur, passionfruit syrup, and egg white.
I had the Parisian Morning (P550) with its refreshing blend of 1800 Blanco, fresh orange juice, cointreau, agave syrup, lemon juice, and sprinkled with black salt.
Now here comes our Parisian Brunch dishes. I do love eating lobster sandwiches so I ordered the Lobster Roll (P1500). This beautiful platter comes with a toasted brioche bun filled with tender juicy lobster cuts then topped with citrus mayonnaise, crisp celery, and a hint of herring pearls.
It also comes with a side of French fries. I loved eating the lobster roll, especially with its crunchy brioche bun. My only complaint would be that I wanted to have a bigger serving because I really wanted more.
Next up is the French-Style Mac and Cheese (P995). Now this is a huge serving as the mac and cheese comes in a big serving pan. The creamy macaroni is folded in rich Gruyère and Comté béchamel then oven baked until golden and bubbling with a crispy crust.
We were really so impressed with this Mac and cheese and we dare say that this could be the best version we have ever tasted. The garlic flavor really stands out and it felt like we were eating exquisite French escargot. This one is not really for kids but for adults who want to enjoy this youthful dish upgraded with complex flavors.
We had room for one more dish so we tried the Croque Madame (P780). This is a classic French ham and Gruyère béchamel cheese toasted brioche sandwich with béchamel sauce then topped with a fried egg. There was cheese everywhere and this sandwich really stands out as true comfort food that everyone will enjoy.
We would like to thank Brazille Mae Tango and Jorge Joseph of the NIKKEI group for inviting us and hosting our exquisite Parisian Brunch date at Bistrot Le Coucou. Bring your friends or family here and experience a lovely French afternoon in the city.
Solaire Resort Launches Its Own Exclusive Grand Cru Champagne
Solaire Resort has just introduced its own Grand Cru Champagne which is now available across its two properties, Solaire Resort Entertainment City and Solaire Resort North. This exquisite champagne is crafted exclusively by boutique Champagne Grower Pierre Boever, marking a first for an integrated resort in the country to develop and offer its own Champagne label through a direct partnership with a niche Champagne Grower.
The Solaire Grand Cru Champagne was first presented last April 26, 2026 during Finestra’s signature Sunday brunch, Brunchissimo, at Solaire Resort Entertainment City. The Hungry Kat was invited to join this special occasion which marks the debut of a new addition to the resort’s beverage program.
Finestra is the signature Italian Steakhouse located at the ground floor of Solaire Resort Entertainment City and led by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Andrea Spagoni. Brunchissimo is an elaborate Sunday brunch buffet which is available every Sunday at Finestra from 11:30am to 2:30pm with free-flowing beverages and options to upgrade to unlimited cocktails and champagne.
We are no strangers to Finestra because this happens to be our favorite Sunday brunch among all the others offerings in the city. This is where we usually bring our families during holidays and important events.
For the launch of the Solaire Grand Cru Champange, media guests were seated inside Finestra's private dining room where we got to have lunch with Solaire Resort's Director of Beverage, Daniel Blais.
As part of its continued focus on elevating its food and beverage program, Solaire Resort has partnered with Pierre Boever, allowing the resort to introduce a bespoke and classified Grand Cru cuvée that is available only in extremely limited quantities. Beyond exclusivity, this initiative also supports Solaire’s broader effort to cultivate a deeper appreciation for champagne among its guests, positioning the resort as a destination for curated and experience-led dining.
Sourced from Grand Cru vineyards, the highest classification in the Champagne region, the cuvée represents the top tier of quality and craftsmanship. Of more than 320 villages in Champagne, only 17 hold Grand Cru status, accounting for approximately 5% of the region’s vineyard area. This designation reflects exceptional terroir, careful grape selection, and lower yields, resulting in wines known for their balance, structure, and depth.
Produced in limited quantities, this Champagne reflects a level of care that resists scale. Each bottle is aged for a minimum of five years, allowing its structure to settle into balance, where freshness, texture, and length come together seamlessly. “By working directly with a boutique Champagne Grower, we are able to offer our guests a classified Grand Cru cuvée that is not widely available, ensuring both quality and exclusivity in every glass,” said Daniel Blais, Director of Beverage for Solaire properties. The Solaire Grand Cru Champagne is now available across all outlets at Solaire Resort Entertainment City and Solaire Resort North. It is priced very competitively at only P1,160 per glass and P5,800 for one bottle, making it one of the best value champagne bottles you can have in Manila.
What makes this champagne even more special is that you can have it served free-flowing during your Sunday Brunch at Finestra. That's exactly how we had our introduction to the Solaire Grand Cru Champagne. Guests are welcomed to Brunchissimo with a lavish seafood tower of fresh oysters, lobster, mussels, and shrimp, fully refillable throughout the brunch.
We love eating lobsters so we had our seafood tower refilled with a whole tray of baked lobsters and freshly shucked oysters. All these were ours while enjoying endless sips of the Solaire Grand Cru Champagne
Daniel actually demonstrated to us a unique way of eating oysters. He carefully detaches the oyster from the shell and then poured a small amount of champagne on top. You then eat it by slurping the champagne-filled oyster in one go. It's really good! The oyster actually balances the acidity and sour flavors of the champagne and turns it mildly sweet. I think I will be eating my oysters this way for now on.
The Finestra Sunday brunch also features an extensive buffet complemented by live cooking stations. There's a dedicated cheese trolley featuring over 20 Italian and international selections just waiting to be explored.
The appetizer station features cured and smoked salmon together with a charcuterie and a variety of salads and breads.
Guests can then revel in mouthwatering crispy veal Milanese, succulent roasted pork belly, delicately grilled seabass, and comforting chicken cacciatore. Other Italian favorites include lasagna, pasta with beef Bolognese, and pasta primavera.
Complementing the sumptuous buffet is a selection of prime cut meats such as Tomahawk Steak, Tajima Wagyu Rump, and Sirloin. Ask the chef to give you a slice or two.
Tableside and pass-around creations bring the experience to life, from mushroom risotto and baked oysters to freshly baked pizza, seafood pasta, and homemade gnocchi finished tableside and served by our chef.
Lastly, an interactive trolley glides from table to table offering an assortment of steaks for you to savor at your own pace. This is what makes Brunchissimo different from other buffets. You are allowed to take it easy, to eat at your own pace and let some of the dishes come to you.
The culinary journey concludes on a sweet note with a live tiramisu station and a strolling cannoli pastry chef who prepares freshly filled cannoli right at your table side. Guests can also satisfy their sweet cravings at a dedicated dessert station featuring a delightful variety of confections.
The Solaire Grand Cru Champagne is a very welcome addition to the exquisite beverage lineup of Solaire Resort. You will find it offered at all Solaire dining establishments by the glass or by the bottle. But if I were you, I would just go back to Finestra's Brunchissimo so I can enjoy endless glasses of Grand Cru champagne with my Sunday brunch. See you there!

Oriental Palace recently launched its new Spring Menu to commemorate the changing of the seasons. After the very busy Chinese New Year celebrations last February, it's time to return to something simpler and slower with soul-warming dishes that can be shared by the family. The Hungry Kat was invited last week to sample some of these new dishes that will bring comfort and replenish our energies.
Oriental Palace is located at 148 Tomas Morato at the corner of Scout de Guia Street. It is one of the biggest Chinese restaurants in Quezon City and is a popular venue for birthday celebrations and special occasions among the Filipino-Chinese community. Oriental Palace traces its roots all the way back to 1978 when a young cook from Hong Kong named Henry Chua started a small noodle and dimsum shop in Escolta. The legacy continues with his son Chris as Oriental Palace is now on its 11th year.
This huge restaurant can accommodate big events and is always busy any day of the week. It is divided into several areas which includes the main dining hall and private function rooms that can hold up to 100 guests.
Our friends gathered here once again for lunch at one of the private VIP rooms of Oriental Palace. We're here to sample their new Spring Menu which offers lighter textures and fresh flavors, something simpler to enjoy after the Chinese New Year festivities last month.
We started with some of their refreshing beverages like the Fresh Watermelon Shake and the Four Seasons Shake.
Our festive lunch opened with some dimsum appetizers. The Pork and Shrimp Siomai is one of their Top 10 best selling dishes. Their version is plump and juicy with no extenders, just how siomai should be.
The Xiao Long Bao is another dimsum favorite that I like to order. Be careful when eating these because they come with super hot broth inside. Bite a small portion first then sip the broth slowly before devouring the Xiao long bao.
Other fried dimsum items include the Ham Sui Kok and the Radish Cake in XO Sauce which are also popular dishes.
One of the new items on the Spring Menu is the Red Rice Cheung Fun. These are bite-sized red rice rolls filled with crispy fried shrimp. They are really cute and delicious at the same time.
We also had the Seaweeds with Century Egg which are marinated jelly fish usually found in Chinese lauriats. These are crunchy and slightly chewy with a sweet flavor.
For our soup course, we had the Double Boiled Black Chicken Soup which is a staple in Chinese homes. This is a traditional broth that comes with medicinal properties which parents usually prepare for their children. It's cooked with Chinese herbs and ingredients so it is really a healthy and revitalizing dish.
The Honey Walnut Shrimps was one of my favorites that afternoon. I love eating Crispy Prawns with Mayonnaise and this one is a sweeter upgraded version prepared with walnuts.
Now here are some of the Spring Menu dishes at Oriental Palace. The Egg Omelet with Sakura Shrimps is a simple comfort food which you can have any time of the day.
There's also the Stir Fried Garlic Scapes with Minced Pork in XO Sauce. This is a light and healthy vegetable dish to balance all the other indulgent items on the menu.
Rice should always be part of any lauriat so we were happy to see the Rainbow Fried Rice which is part of their Top 10 Best Sellers. This colorful fried rice is actually as tasty as it looks.
Another new dish is the Braised Goat Hotpot. I don't usually get to eat goat but Oriental Palace features this delicacy on their Spring Menu. It's actually a bit similar to pork with a lighter flavor. One other option is the Cumin Goat Hotpot which has a spicier and more aromatic bowl.
I guess I still prefer beef so the Beef Ribs in Oriental Dressing was more to my liking. This comes with lots of mushrooms to complement the savory beef ribs.
Another classic dish at Oriental Palace is the Oriental Signature Tofu. This healthy alternative can be enjoyed by the entire table with its combination of mushrooms and tofu.
The U.S. Beef Ribs in Oriental Dressing is an Asian fusion of flavors and ingredients. Served with udon noodles and doused with a roasted sesame dressing, the distinct combination of flavors and cuisines makes this dish a unique dining experience by itself.
A Chinese lauriat won’t be complete without the Steamed Live Lapu-Lapu in Spring Onions with French Beans. This fresh lapu lapu is cooked in a light soy sauce and is one of the most popular seafood dishes especially during family gatherings.
Oriental Palace presented two delicious crab dishes for us that afternoon, the Steamed Jumbo Crab in Garlic Sauce and the Fried Jumbo Crab in Salt Pepper and Salted Egg. Both were really so good and tasty, but I think I liked the salted egg crab more as it was bursting with spices and flavors.
For dessert, Oriental Palace went all out and served this gorgeous Prosperity Apple Bun tree. These look like apples but they are actually soft custard buns with cheese and potato fillings. Kids will sure love this but I'm sure all the adults will enjoy taking photos of it as well.
We also had two more desserts, the Mango Sago and the Pork Floss Puff Pastry. We were all very full and satisfied after indulging in all these yummy dishes.
We would like to thank Spanky Enriquez and Oriental Palace for hosting our exquisite Spring Menu lunch. Oriental Palace has always been a well-loved Chinese restaurant and they continue to innovate and serve new exciting seasonal dishes for all their loyal guests.

This Easter, Shangri-La Plaza is turning the traditional egg hunt into something a little more adventurous. Introducing Super Easter Quest—a mall-wide, game-inspired experience where kids become players, collect Golden Eggs, earn Stars, and complete a quest across the mall. Instead of simply searching for eggs, young participants follow a Quest Map and complete a series of playful challenges set up around the Grand Atrium on April 5, 2026. Each station unlocks a Golden Egg—or “Star”—bringing them one step closer to finishing the quest and claiming their Super Star Prize Pack. The experience draws inspiration from classic platform adventure games, transforming Easter into an activity that rewards movement, curiosity, and a bit of friendly competition.
The adventure begins in the Challenge Zone, where players complete four interactive stations designed to test agility, coordination, and a sense of fun. Kids crawl through the Pipe Crawl Tunnel, dive into the Coin Dash Ball Pit to collect hidden coins, hop their way through the Mystery Block, and test their aim at the Egg Toss Target Game. Each completed challenge earns a Golden Egg stamp on their Quest Map. Once the four challenges are completed, players unlock Level Two: The Power-Up Zone. Here, they move into a creative space developed in partnership with The Happy Blue House, where they can take part in hands-on DIY activities before claiming their prize. Participants can assemble their own Bunny Plushie Activity Kit to take home or explore their creativity through Canvas Painting Activity Kits, featuring pre-drawn designs ready to be brought to life.
With their Quest Map filled and their Stars earned, participants will then head to the Victory Vault to redeem their Super Star Prize Pack—the final reward for finishing the quest. Participation in the Super Easter Quest is open to children, with a registration fee of P2000 per kid, offering families a fun and engaging way to celebrate Easter through play, exploration, and adventure at Shangri-La Plaza. For decades, Shangri-La Plaza has been a place where families gather across generations. Grandparents, parents, and children often share the same spaces—whether for weekend meals, movie dates, or simple afternoons together. Events like Super Easter Quest continue that tradition, creating experiences that invite families to spend time together in ways that feel joyful and memorable for every age.

Bistrot Le Coucou in BGC Offers 4-Course Menu Du Jour Parisian Lunch Set
Paris is truly one of my favorite travel destinations. I had so much fun during our European honeymoon which had us even extending our stay in France. Walking around the streets of Paris and dining at the street side bistros with the Eiffel Tower in the background was really such a memorable experience for me. That's why I was so happy to discover this relatively new restaurant in BGC that offers a Parisian bistro dining experience without having to leave the country.
Bistrot Le Coucou is a charming and refined French bistro in Bonifacio Global City that celebrates the art of fine food. You can find it on the second floor of One Bonifacio High Street at the veranda area, just beside its sister restaurant NIKKEI. The Hungry Kat was invited to try out their Menu Du Jour - a four-course weekday lunch set for only ₱1,880+ per person that will transport you to the streets of Paris without breaking the bank.
It was my first time visiting Bistrot Le Coucou which opened its doors just last year. The restaurant is open daily from 11:30am to 10:00pm from Sundays to Thursday while extending up to 11:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The place is quite charming, with elegant seats and tableware accompanying its bright-lit interiors. There are plenty of dining areas to choose from, whether you are having a casual lunch date or just staying for some cocktails over at the bar.
Bistrot Le Coucou also functions as a wine bar with its carefully curated selection of fine wines that can be purchased to be enjoyed at the bistro or at home. A semi-private dining room is available which can be reserved for small groups and special occasions.
It was a weekday but my husband and I took the opportunity to have a romantic lunch date at Bistrot Le Coucou. The four-course Menu Du Jour comes with a selection of appetizers, salads, entrée, and dessert — paired with a glass of sweet wine or cup of coffee. This is available from 12:00nn to 3:00pm from Monday to Friday for only ₱1,880+ per person.
We started by having some sweet wine which you can add to the set for P200 per glass. The Bodegas Vega De Mara Dabalia Frizzante from La Mancha, Spain is a light and refreshing dessert wine with sweet tropical flavors.
Complimentary breads and butter were placed on the table. The bread was freshly baked and was a good appetizer while waiting for our orders to arrive.
The Menu Du Jour lets diners choose one appetizer, one salad, and one main course, followed by a dessert. The selection is quite interesting, with dishes that you will only encounter at authentic French bistros. With the Menu Du Jour, you can enjoy these full-sized orders at a fraction of the price.
For my starter, I had the French Onion Soup, a classic French soup made with caramelized onions and a rich beef broth. This is then topped with a golden brown puff pastry and gratinated Gruyere cheese.
I really love having French Onion Soup and it takes a good restaurant to execute it well. The crust was flaky and the beef soup was hot and properly prepared with lots of onions.
My husband Dexter ordered the Snapper Tartare and Black Herring Caviar for his starter. This is fresh snapper tartare doused with extra virgin olive oil, lemon zest, and chives then served with plain crackers. A third option for your appetizer is the Fresh Clams with White Wine.
There are two salad choice at the Menu Du Jour so we tried both. The Ratatouille "Bistrot Le Coucou" comes with layers of aubergine and courgette lying on a velvet roasted red pepper sauce with Perigold black truffles. This is quite a unique eggplant dish prepared the French way.
On the other hand, the Salad Niçoise is a pretty dish with its baby gem lettuce wedges plus ripe tomatoes and anchovy drizzled with black olive vinaigrette, tuna mayonnaise, and black olive oil power. This is a popular salad which originated in Nice, France.
For the main course, diners can go for the French Hunters Chicken which feels like the French countryside on a plate. This boneless chicken thigh is simmered in cognac and white wine then garnished with mushrooms and bacon and served with mashed potatoes.
The hunter's chicken is very tender. Dexter loved the combination of the bacon and mushroom sauce which gives the chicken a sweet flavor. The dish is quite filling especially with its generous serving of mashed potatoes.
My choice was the Salmon Au Reisling, a seared salmon with gnocchi, caramelized onion, and spinach then finished with Reisling sauce and extra virgin olive oil. The salmon was perfectly cooked so I loved having this light dish for my main course. Another option is the Ravioli Demi-Luna Scallops and Chicken Umami which we would want to try next time we visit.
For dessert, a plate of Salted Caramel Beignets will be served to complete your Parisian dining experience. These are fried dough tossed in powedered sugar similar to a doughnut. It is served with caramel sauce on the side.
Aside from the Menu Du Jour, we also wanted to try some of the other interesting items on their a la carte menu. The Confit Baby Lamb Leg with Pilaf Rice & Mint (P2550) is one of their Chef's Specialties. This tender lamb leg is cooked sous-vide for 36 hours. It's baked and served in a big clay pot with fragrant rice, carrots, and sweet onions. This can be shared by the entire table.
We also ordered the Mousse Au Chocolat (P385), a French chocolate mousse that is served from a giant bowl. We got one big spoonful of this heavenly dessert.
Bistrot Le Coucou has some other promotions to make every day a little better. They have Bring Your Own Bottle on Mondays where dine-in guests can bring their own bottle of wine without any corkage fees.
Nothing says joie de vivre like an Apéro Hour, so Bistrot Le Coucou lets guests enjoy two drinks from a selection of cocktails and wines for only P595+. This is available from 2:30pm–6:30pm on Mondays to Fridays. That means you can make any afternoon feel like a mini getaway to Paris.
We really did not want to leave yet after our Menu Du Jour lunch, so we hopped over to the comfy sofa near the bar to enjoy some cocktails. I had one of the Bartender's Choice cocktails called the Le Coucou Sour (P650) made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, lemon juice, elderflower liqueur, simple syrup, flour bitter, and egg white. Dexter had the Cacao Royale (P495). a cocoa-infused gin with Campari, vanilla liqueur, Cointreau, cacao bitter, simple syrup, and a ginger cookie.
We would like to thank Brazille Mae Tango and Jorge Joseph of the NIKKEI group for inviting us and hosting our exquisite afternoon at Bistrot Le Coucou. The Menu Du Jour is a great opportunity to experience French dining at a very good price. So bring your friends or significant other to Bistrot Le Coucou and enjoy an elegant afternoon in Paris.
CHAGEE Brings Its Popular Iced Lemon Fruit Tea Series to Manila in Time for Summer
CHAGEE is welcoming its first Philippine summer with a refreshing, fruity splash from the latest addition to its local lineup of high-quality tea offerings. The global milk tea sensation is now bringing to Manila its internationally loved Iced Lemon Fruit Tea series—infused with real fruit flavors and refreshing brewed tea—ready to turn up Pinoys’ 2026 summer escapades with the ultimate tag-init refreshment.
Following enthusiastic reception in key markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the United States, CHAGEE is bringing the Iced Lemon Fruit Tea series to the Philippines, perfectly timed for the hot season’s craving for refreshing sips to beat the summer heat. More than a seasonal drop, the Iced Lemon Fruit Tea series is a permanent addition to CHAGEE’s lineup of high-quality teas in the Philippines. The latest tea series is the third internationally beloved flavor that the tea chain has brought to the market since the local debut of its global best-sellers at its Manila launch last August. Following the success of Cocoa Oolong Milk Tea introduced in December 2025, CHAGEE kicked off 2026 with the arrival of Peach Oolong Milk Tea in January and the Iced Lemon Fruit Tea series this summer. The brand’s newest offerings reinforce CHAGEE’s commitment to elevating Filipinos’ premium tea experience, promising to give tea lovers a refreshing staple they can enjoy all year round.
A Refreshing Twist on CHAGEE favorites
CHAGEE’s Iced Lemon Fruit Tea collection is crafted to deliver crisp, clean, and revitalizing refreshment. Lemon-infused iced tea has long been a familiar and well-loved staple in the Philippines, synonymous with cooling refreshment during warm, sun-soaked days. CHAGEE reimagines this classic with its signature premium tea craftsmanship, elevating a nostalgic favorite into a more refined summer beverage. The summer series introduces three vibrant flavors: Jasmine Lemon Tea, Da Hong Pao Lemon Tea, and Glutinous Lemon Tea. The Peach Oolong Brewed Tea, the latest brewed tea offering, is also joining in on the summer fun. Each beverage carries CHAGEE’s signature tea DNA: high-quality and authentic tea leaves, precise brewing techniques, and balanced flavor profiles, now expressed in a lighter and more refreshing drink. The result is a lineup that feels both familiar and elevated, perfectly attuned to the Philippine summer.
The Jasmine Lemon Tea pairs premium jasmine green tea with crisp lemon juice, delivering a bright, citrus-forward flavor with a delicate floral finish. Da Hong Pao Lemon Tea combines bold, roasted da hong pao tea leaves with zesty lemon for a rich but balanced aromatic experience. Glutinous Lemon Tea blends high-mountain green tea with the subtle sweetness of glutinous rice aroma, perfectly complemented by a refreshing lift of lemon. Completing the summer Fruit Tea series from the brewed tea lineup is the Peach Oolong Brewed Tea, a robust yet refreshing option that highlights fragrant oolong tea with gently roasted notes, complemented by a subtle peach sweetness. The result is a full-bodied, aromatic brew designed for slow sips and warm summer days.
“We are thrilled to introduce our much-anticipated Iced Lemon Fruit Tea series—a new category that pairs authentic and high-quality tea bases with real fruit flavors, setting a new, higher standard for the ultimate summer refreshment,” shares CHAGEE Philippines General Manager, Christopher “Sonny” Tiong. “Here in the Philippines, refreshment isn’t optional—it’s a must. That’s why we’re excited to make the Iced Lemon Fruit Tea series a permanent part of our menu, giving every Filipino a lighter, brighter, and more refreshing drink infused with CHAGEE’s trusted tea DNA.”

NIKKEI Introduces Tori Super Lunch Set for Only P595+
Lunch breaks will now be a lot more delicious and affordable as NIKKEI introduces its Tori Super Lunch Set for only P595+. Mall goers and office workers can now have a premium Japanese Peruvian dining experience during the work week without having to spend too much. Best of all, these lunch sets are customizable so you can tweak and choose your favorite items every time you visit.
The Hungry Kat was invited to the Podium Mall branch of NIKKEI last week to try their Tori Super Lunch Set. Nikkei has several branches all over the city including Rockwell, Greenbelt, Bonifacio Global City, Shangri-La Mall, and Newport Mall. You can find the Podium branch at the mall's ground floor and this is where my friends and I got together to sample this new lunch special.
NIKKEI is the reflection of the Japanese influence on the Peruvian gastronomy. Since the first NIKKEI opened in Makati’s Legazpi Village in 2015, the restaurant has introduced foodies to a delicious convergence of culinary cultures. NIKKEI has then grown to 9 branches all over the city including NIKKEI, NIKKEI Nama Bar, NIKKEI Robata, and DEN by NIKKEI—bringing its signature Japanese-Peruvian experience to more locations.
The Tori Super Lunch Set is available from Mondays to Thursdays from 11:00am to 5:00pm at all NIKKEI locations. This customizable set lets you choose your type of maki or nigiri to go with your option for the main course and rice, then finished off with a lovely desert.
It comes with house made miso soup and one glass of iced tea. Each table at NIKKEI also comes with complimentary crispy sweet potato chips served with wasabi mayonnaise.
The Tori Super Lunch Set is like a complete bento box that is as filling as it is tasty. It is served all at the same time so you can have your lunch in one go. This is quite useful for those quick one-hour lunch breaks so you won't be late going back to the office.
Guests have a choice of one Maki or Nigiri for their starter. You can choose from Salmon Skin Maki, Maguro Maki, or Tamago Maki which all come with five pieces.
The nigiri options include Maguro Nigiri, Tamara Nigiri, Snapper Nigiri, or Salmon Skin Nigiri which will come with two pieces.
As for myself, this is what I had for my Tori Super Lunch Set. I was really hungry that afternoon so I was excited to dig in to my Japanese lunch.
For the main course, diners can choose either the Chicken Teriyaki or the Black Karaage. The chicken teriyaki comes with grilled chicken coated in a sweet Japanese teriyaki sauce. I love how tender and sweet these chicken breast slices were.
Another option for your main course is their Black Karaage which are deep fried bite-sized Japanese fried chicken. NIKKEI puts their own twist by adding activated charcoal to the mix, turning it into a Darth Vader-like fried chicken that is both crunchy and flavorful.
Diners can also choose to have Gohan or steamed Japanese rice with their set, but I suggeust that you upgrade this into a Chahan or Japanese fried rice by adding P100. The Chahan is like an entire meal by itself with its fragrant and savory ingredients that go well with your tori main courses.
For dessert, the Tori Super Lunch Set comes with a Strawberry and White Chocolate Mochi which is really so good. It's a sweet and creamy way to finish your exquisite but very affordable lunch set.
If you have time to stay longer, there are other promos and items at NIKKEI that might suit your taste as well. The all-day Pisco Specials lets you enjoy two glasses of Pisco cocktails for only P495+. We had the Pisco Chilcano with Alto del Carmen Reservado, Stanford Shaw ginger ale, and lime juice. On the other hand, the Pisco Sour comes with Alto del Carmen Pisco, lemon, egg, sugar syrup, and angostura bitters.
I wanted to try one of their new Japanese Cocktails called the Grasshopper Kun (P395). This is a sake-based cocktail mixed with Giffard Menthe de Pastille, white chocolate matcha sauce, and mint. NIKKEI also has a Reverse Happy Hour from 8:30pm to closing during Sundays to Thursdays where you can get three selected cocktails for only P595+.
There are also some interesting new items on the menu at NIKKEI. The Creamy Unagi Asparagus Roll (P395) comes with a perfect balance of smoky unagi and crisp asparagus elevated by the creamy umami of Lady's Choice Japanese-style mayo.
Then there's the Gyu Foie Nigiri (P580) which is a new item that is really destined to be special. This nigiri comes with US wagyu and foie gras, together with abura oil and teriyaki sauce.
Now if you want an even more indulgent lunch, have some of their Steak Bowl Specials which are 15% off from 12:00nn to 5:00pm daily. The Ebi Furai Steak Bowl (P1400) is a sumptuous rice bowl topped with gorgeous steak cuts, ebi furai, poached egg, and nori.
One of their special desserts is the Tres Leches (P350) which is a delightful cake that can be shared by the entire table. We would like to thank Spanky Enriquez and Jorge Joseph for hosting our lunch at NIKKEI Podium. The Tori Super Lunch Set is definitely an enticing lunch promotion that I'm sure everyone will enjoy.
GZone Tour 2026 marks a defining step forward for structured Tongits competition in the Philippines. More than a seasonal tournament, it represents a fully organized championship circuit built around verified online play, cumulative rankings, and a live grand finale. Before looking at prizes and finals, it is important to understand the competitive environment that makes the tour possible. The tournament operates through GameZone, a regulated digital gaming platform that provides structured matchmaking, identity verification, and monitored tournament systems. Every participant competes under standardized mechanics, ensuring that rankings reflect actual performance rather than informal or inconsistent play conditions. Account verification, leaderboard tracking, and recorded match results create a transparent competitive ladder.
Unlike one-off local tournaments, the GZone Tour unfolds across multiple qualifying legs. Players earn ranking points in designated Tongits Plus competitions hosted on the platform. These points accumulate over time, rewarding consistency rather than short-term momentum. Only the strongest and most disciplined competitors secure advancement. For the March 2026 leg, qualifiers have officially concluded. The top 36 players will move forward to the live Grand Finals at the PNB Events Hall in Pasay City. There, online results translate into a physical championship stage, bridging digital competition with in-person prestige. At stake is a ₱10,000,000 prize pool, highlighted by a ₱5,000,000 grand prize. Yet the financial rewards are only part of the equation. The GZone Tour establishes a structured pathway for Tongits players nationwide, one built on legitimacy, accessibility, and sustained performance.
Tongits Plus: Preserving Tradition in the Digital Arena
Tongits is a three-player card game deeply rooted in Filipino leisure culture. Often played in homes, community gatherings, and informal tournaments, it traces its lineage to rummy-style card games introduced in the Philippines during the 20th century. Over time, it evolved into a uniquely local variant defined by meld declarations, discard strategy, and tactical patience. The objective of Tongits is straightforward in theory but complex in execution. Each player aims to form melds, either sets of the same rank or sequences of consecutive cards in the same suit, while minimizing unmatched cards. A player can win by emptying their hand, declaring Tongits, or ending the round with the lowest total unmatched card value if a draw is called. Strategic depth separates casual players from tournament contenders. Timing meld exposure is critical; revealing combinations too early may provide opponents with useful information. Discipline prevents rivals from completing their sets.
The sapaw mechanic, adding a card to an opponent’s exposed meld, introduces additional tactical layers, especially in late-round play. Skilled competitors also track discarded cards to narrow probability windows. Tongits Plus, developed by GameZone, adapts this traditional card game into a digital format while preserving its core mechanics. The draw-discard cycle, meld structure, and win conditions remain intact. What changes is the delivery system: automated rule enforcement, built-in scoring, and structured matchmaking ensure fairness and consistency. This digital adaptation forms the competitive backbone of the GZone Tour. Every qualifying leg, ranking computation, and final-stage match uses Tongits Plus as the standardized format. Even during the live Grand Finals, gameplay remains consistent with the online system, ensuring continuity from the first qualifier to the championship table. By maintaining tradition while integrating technological oversight, Tongits Plus provides both accessibility and competitive integrity.
Understanding the GZone Tour Format and Qualification System
The GZone Tour is formally recognized as the Tongits Plus Championship Cup (TPCC) for 2026. Its structure is designed to reward sustained excellence rather than isolated wins. Qualification occurs through designated Tongits Plus tournaments hosted throughout the year on GameZone. Participants accumulate ranking points based on performance in these official events. Leaderboard positions shift dynamically as tournaments conclude, making consistent high placements essential. Once the qualification window closes, only the top 36 players advance to the Grand Finals.
For March 2026, qualifiers ended in February, setting the stage for the championship event on March 7–8 at the PNB Events Hall. The live finals follow a layered elimination structure. Revival brackets allow certain lower-ranked competitors a second opportunity to re-enter contention. Promotion rounds narrow the field further, ensuring semifinalists demonstrate adaptability and composure. The semifinal stage trims the competition to three finalists. This streamlined final format intensifies gameplay. With fewer opponents, card visibility increases, and discard decisions carry greater strategic weight. The championship round tests not only technical skill but also mental resilience.
The prize pool totals ₱10,000,000. The champion earns ₱5,000,000, second place receives ₱1,000,000, and third place secures ₱500,000. This distribution underscores the tour’s commitment to rewarding high-level performance across multiple stages. Beyond monetary incentives, the format institutionalizes competitive Tongits. It establishes a measurable pathway, from online qualifiers to live finals, supported by transparent ranking systems and verified competition.
GameZone as a Competitive Gateway
With the March 2026 qualifiers officially complete, attention now centers on the live confrontation at the PNB Events Hall. The top 36 competitors will transition from online screens to a physical tournament environment, where matches will also be broadcast through live streaming channels. Yet the championship does not conclude with a single leg. The “Tour” designation reflects an ongoing circuit spanning the calendar year. Additional qualifying legs will reopen opportunities for new challengers and returning contenders alike. Preparation remains accessible. Through GameZone, players can continue refining their skills in Tongits Plus. The platform’s structured environment enables consistent practice under standardized conditions.
Beyond Tongits, GameZone hosts an extensive game library, including slot-style digital titles and traditional card games such as poker and Texas Hold’em, offering alternative competitive experiences. However, Tongits Plus remains the centerpiece of the tour. Its digital infrastructure ensures that rule enforcement, scoring, and ranking remain uniform throughout the season. For players who missed the February cutoff, future qualification windows will provide renewed access. The competitive ladder remains open, anchored by verified accounts, leaderboard transparency, and recurring tournament schedules. The GZone Tour, therefore, functions as both a championship and an opportunity system: a national stage built upon digital accessibility and structured progression.
