"Mid-shipman Aszur, this is PSCSC-Councilwoman Pele. You two know each other by now. I hope both of you commune as official, designated partners for the Galactic Federation." Grand Councilwoman announced, motioning her hand to Pele, who nervously messed with her hair. Aszur nodded, a smile forming. "We very much have, yes. We thank you for your efforts and sacrifices in joining us. We're proud to have the first human ever—officially—working alongside us. If you have any questions, and I'm sure you do, I will not hesitate to answer them." She formely states, suggesting a handshake. Pele returns the flavor with a slight smile. "Welcome to the federation, Councilwoman Pele."
"...thank you..." replied Pele, her smile genuine but lacking through her mind's struggle with the massive realization-- she's earned it. Years of constant decisions, sacrifices and long-term promises and deals came to a halt. She wears the uniform and holds her status with high regard. No longer is she on Earth. She will experience everything she imagined to experience. Space is no longer a struggler's journey, but a struggler's hope in discovering the undiscovered.
Her family is okay. Her cousins are okay. Manners is okay. She is okay. Everything is okay. Two billions light years away yet two feet close to everyone's hearts. Years long wait finally passes, a new fleet awaits, and one, singular comet to take down. This is her Laniakea—an immense heaven. One of stars, galaxies, and clusters alike.
"I'm ready for whatever's to come."
