The Last Bed
what's your story?
In a journey through history, Paul Climey takes a look at Glasgow's history of treating mental illness OVER the past 200 hundred years the treatment available to people with mental health problems has changed dramatically. In Glasgow the buildings and institutions to lock up or look after these people has also changed. In the early 1800s, "lunatics" would be locked up in their own sections of the poorhouse. Then huge asylums were built to house these people together, away from the rest of society.
