LOOK AT THE LAYOUT OF THE ROOM. THIS ISNT THEIR HOUSE. OR MAYBE ITS AMANDAS ROOM WHO CARES. IT LOOKS ODD AS FUCK. THE MAKEOVER SETUP IN THE VAST MIDDLE OF THE ROOM WHILE THE CUPBOARD IS ALL THE WAY OVER THERE.
BUT WHAT IS IT THAT BOTHERS WOOLY?
THE WHITE WALLS. THE WHITE FLOOR.
HES GETTING PTSD AND HE DOESNT LIKE IT. IM TELLING YOU THIS IS WHERE HE WENT WHEN HE DIED. THIS IS WHERE HE IS ALWAYS BEING INFERROGATED AND THREATENED. THIS IS WHERE HE IS BEING HELD AGAINST HIS WILL TO SAY SOMETHING FOR THE NEXT GAME.
AND WE KNOW HE HATES IT BECAUSE HE ASKS HIS CAPTOR TO LET HIM GO AT GUNPOINT AND HE ALSO LITERALLY BEGS US NOT TO LEAVE HIM IN THERE.
ALSO??? BECAUSE OF THE WAY THIS ROOM IS SET UP I THINK THIS IS WHEN H*MELN STARTED TO ABANDON THE SHOW AND NOT CARE ANYMORE. THEY STARTED CUTTING DOWN ON BUDGET AND QUALITY. ALSO THERES A LITERAL WIP TAPE WHERE THEY HAVE THEIR 3D MODELS ON A 2D BACKGROUND AND ITS SO OFF.
THEY ARE REVERTING WE ARE ALL REVERTING. SHIT IS HITTING THE FAN.
The way Chickenscratch flinches when Wooly smacks the counter... the way he shrinks away and makes himself smaller when they start yelling, looking very upset, the fact that Joanne said the library was the only place she felt safe... (the fact we see a library in the when you feel safe tape). Part of me thinks the games are implying Joanne and Jordan didn't have a great homelife, like maybe there was a lot of fighting or worse going on at home? Am I looking too deep into it? Am I losing my marbles over this game or am I onto something?
Okay so you know how Amanda the adventurer has a pretty consistent apple theme right? Specifically with Amanda. It had me thinking about that one saying that goes "An apple a day keeps the doctor away!" WHAT IF THE ENTIRE REASON WHY AMANDA LIKES APPLES SO MUCH IS BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO STAY AWAY FROM DOCTORS. Also I know theres some points where Amanda plays doctor herself but what if that's just a type of coping mechanism in a way, like as if it helps take her anger out.
I think it’s worth noting how Rebecca’s theme at the end of ATA 3 sounds COMPLETELY different than Amanda’s theme because at the end of the day, these 2 characters are completely separate.
Rebecca is a real person who came up with the idea of Amanda with the help of Sam and grew to love acting until Hameln. Her theme is genuine, soft, and beautiful, sounding as real as she herself ultimately is.
Amanda, the character, is an idea molded into a mockery of what Rebecca and Sam made used for corporate greed and control over the masses. Her theme is marketable, made for a company’s franchise. Fake.
Rebecca’s theme is different from Amanda’s because they’re not the same thing, even if Rebecca was the one controlling the Amanda character in the tapes. They’ve become separate now, and Rebecca has the chance to become her own person now, starting with the change in the theme song.
before i say my theory, i am not theorist nor am i good at theorizing. im not very smart either so i might be extremely wrong
take this with grain of salt.
so in ata3, we confirmed that wooly is marcus moutman and he is a hameln employee who worked in pneumatransference department. it's a high security area with a very strict confidentiality. in the interview tape with marcus, the interviewer specifically asked about three things that stood out to me. one, the ability to keep it confidential. two, if he would question a task that conflicts with worldview. three, ability to suppress personal autonomy.
this made me wonder, what exactly is pneumatransference job and why does it have these requirements? so i looked into it and apparently, it is most likely a field specialized in transferring souls. so, this means marcus was responsible for transferring the souls into the tapes as well as providing stewardship for rebecca.
this made me really curious about the exact process of transference. but we do know that surgeries were part of it, obviously. however, interviewer said this "Your skills would certainly be valuable in conducting our procedures" in the interview with marcus. now, im not sure if this is just a coincidence or not. in "when im grown up" tape, how wooly reacted with gulit(?) to amanda when she talked about her doll being a doctor and performing surgeries on children and also he saying that there's only good doctors.
so im thinking, maybe, just maybe, marcus had a part in the rebecca's surgery? likely responsible for working with the technology and checking vitals etc. and he ended up getting tricked into getting trapped in the tape after colton anomaly was created.
now this next thing im gonna say is heavily speculation
theres a connection between wooly/marcus and meatman. the reason why i thought this is because of few scenes.
when amanda dug up the hole with sam's clothes in it and right as wooly came into the view, it showed a man grinning for a split second. i didnt think much of it at first but i felt something was familiar with it.
in "do you feel safe?" tape, when you mention meatman to amanda, it showed couple of images; the overhead light, two surgeons and then the same man grinning that was shown earlier.
it was also shown in "we can fix it" tape when wooly was fused with amanda.
there's a similarity with the name meatman and moutman but that might be a coincidence.
in ata2, "we can fix it" tape meatman was shown with teeth (although different teeth) while counting up to 10.
in "play my way" video, a official collab work with mangledmaw, wooly was also counting up to 10 while looking for amanda and came across dead mr fox. (i believe mr fox represents sam colton which would make this scene match up with what happened to sam in ata3) meatman was also showed here.
in ata1, wooly is theorized to be responsible for turning riley into meat in the fateful end, possibly symbolizing the transference of souls into tapes.
so that's... few times that wooly was shown with meatman symbolism.
either marcus moutman is meatman, or he is assistant to meatman or he is connected to meatman in some way.
or maybe paimon is the meatman, since the fact that paimon is a demon that promises knowledge or wealth in exchange for souls and paimon is the demon within wooly, essentially part of him. (possibly possessing?)
i feel like im reaching too much but i feel like there's something here and it had bothered me so much since ata2. i originally had this theory couple of months ago and dropped it because of a possibility that wooly is a victim of meatman. but... turns out he's a hameln employee so i started thinking about this again
Wait…. So… Amanda doesn’t know Wooly worked for Hameln? Then… what broke Amandas trust towards Wooly? Im so confused…
Context: when you type “job” or “promotion” as a reason for party, Wooly says some things arent worth celebrating which Amanda asks how would he know about those things if he never had a job
I swear this game wants to drive me crazy MAKE IT AMKE SENSE OMG
The way this screen is cracked on Wooly, or more exactly on his right hand (or on the big letter d, standing for "Dick", because he actually is kind of a big dick)
It's an interesting detail, because it points at his mistake done as an employee rather than just Marcus himself. Wooly is the true failure, while Marcus could've just been a victim. Hear me out
Ever noticed that Amanda is left-handed, but Rebecca clearly used to be right-handed? There could be a meaning behind it, because it actually appears that Hameln sympathisers/employees, are all right-handed while victims are left-handed, as far as we talk about characters in the tapes. Meatman? Right. Opossum? Appears to be left. Wooly? It's very hard to tell, he uses his right hand a little more, but generally, he uses both almost equally, which could actually be trying to say something. And it all could be a coincidence, but there's also one moment that looks related. During Wooly's final crashout, we hear him react to Amanda openly disliking him before she reacts with a question. Wooly gestures with both hands during those few seconds: "Do you ever even think about what I want?" *Gestures with left towards Amanda. "All anyone does is make promises that they can't keep" *gestures with right hand. Remember, devs could've decided to make this in any way they liked, but they decided to choose this exact setting. Setting in which it seems like Wooly's inner Marcus speaks to Amanda, blaming her of not listening to his wants and to Hameln, being angry at them for tricking him. Left hand, a victim that blames another innocent and clueless victim of not doing something they're not obliged to do. Right hand, a blind, submissive employee who finally admits it aloud that he hates the offenders and what they have done to him.
So I CANNOT be the first one to say this, but are the butcher and Wooly related??
So in Amanda the Adventurer 1 and 2, we learn about the butcher, or meat man, who very obviously haunts her traumatic past somehow. (Most likely the surgeon, due to his line in ATA 2)
We know that throughout the entire trilogy, she and Wooly have a very complex frenemy relationship,
And in Amanda the Adventurer 3, a secret tape shows us, aligning with the context, Wooly’s a real person, named Marcus Moutman.
