Atelier 4 - First Exploration
Google Blocks
This was my first time diving into an experience of 3D modeling in VR and I do have to commend this software on hitting most of the basic points of modeling. The experience was unlike anything I have done as far as modeling is concerned and showed me what the potential that more time with this software can achieve. Still It lacks several functions that would and could be used to refine your models for them to work on a professional level. I would love to see more options for painting models and a way for easy functionality searches that would allow for low UI clutter and grant the ability to build models that go far beyond low poly. All in all awesome beginner tool that can be used to teach the basics of modeling and even be used to explore different ideas for games and other prototypes with more visualization.
Beat Saber
A fantastic game that is on my personal playlist, it brings back all the fun of the original Wii sports and mashes it together with guitar hero to build an original experience that stays with the user far after they leave VR. I do have to claim some bias because of my love for music games in general but to its own credit beat saber brought back all those arcade memories that I love along with the perfect aesthetic of a game world that engulfs you. I would like to see this game mechanic applied to other games however and further refined so that you could explore several other ways or even different art styles. The 360 mode was a fun challenge however it lacked a marker to tell you where the next notes would come from, I believe this was the only true criticism of this game. However I feel like the game is currently perfect for its intended use
