this kind of work was just something of the ordinary now for athena. she needed the money and she was hot so she didn’t see why she should do anything else. it got her plenty of money. this was just meant to be another ordinary night. another client that she would be happy to please. except when they opened the door, athenas mouth hung open. “what the fuck --?” she muttered.

Nyx wanting a baby had caused Athena to rethink everything, being a mum had never been part of her plan and eventually the arguments got too intense, they called it quits and Athena moved out. She lasted little under two months before they both discovered they’d be miserable without one another, the baby problem still hung over them but Athena was back home and they were together. They’d face anything that would come their way- that’s why in full disclosure Athena confessed to sleeping with their neighbour while collecting some of her stuff. Nyx had wished she’d gone for someone further away but she understood, they thought they were over. She found it less easy to swallow when Athena discovered she was pregnant a few weeks later. Taking a few days to themselves to rant through everything, they came to the conclusion that sure it would’ve been a lot easier if they could’ve decided on having a baby before everything imploded but Athena felt different now that it was a reality and Nyx would support and love her no matter what. 

Possibly the worst part was telling Leo, Athena was anxious to his reaction while Nyx hoped he’d dismiss any involvement. They could hardly keep it a secret, she’d start showing and he lived next door. It led the girlfriends to his porch, hand in hand about to drop a bombshell on his life.

“Mornin’ handsome,” Athena mused with as much cheerfulness as she could muster. It was typical Athena but she didn’t wait to be invited in before pottering past him into the house. Fidgeting from foot to foot, after a moment of utter silence, she pulsed her lips before abruptly saying. “I’m pregnant, it’s yours.” Her eyes flickered from around the room to land on him, waiting for it to sink in.

Nyx had promised to allow Athena to announce it to him in her own way but she couldn’t resist rolling her eyes at her less than gentle approach, she truly just ripped the bandage off. Squeezing Athenas hand to reassure her, it took the impatient brunette only two minutes before adding, “We don’t expect anything from you, we’re ready to raise the baby alone.” Her less than subtle attempt to get him to back out was met with a glare from her shorter girlfriend.

note: athena is a charity worker. she’s demisexual and aged 24-27. plot: they’ve been in the same friendship group for a couple of years. the group had been out at a bar and everyone else has gone home now.

Athena sighed before lifting her glass. She rolled it around and watched the liquid swirl before her eyes shifted back over to her friend. “Looks like we’re the last men standing,” She chuckled gently and then finished her drink. “What’re you thinking? What do you want to do? Are we thinking another one or… are you too tired?”
