After agreeing on a time and place with Athena as soon as she got back from Spain, Emma was in her gear, ready for a little pick up match with her best friend. There was a lot she wanted to tell her, especially since they hadn't seen each other since the early hours of the ministry's gala. So much had happened since then and she was curious to hear how Athena's night had gone. "So tell me, I want to hear everything. How was the gala? How was your weekend?" Emma asked with a smile playing on her lips as she mounted her broom. She was in a good mood, they were going to be in the air soon after all.

Selwyn stood at the entrance of Endine House, armed with comfort food and wine. The sun was finally starting to disappear beyond the horizon, and with it, the promise of peace as darkness settled in. Athena had texted earlier in the day to check up on her after the previous night’s events, and Selwyn had sent back a concise but reassuring message of her safety, knowing her friend had a full plate, but glad to hear from her anyway. She hoped that things were starting to calm down for House Endine and that Athena had taken the time to properly care for herself during the chaos, but somehow she doubted it. And so, Selwyn had practically ordered half the menu off Lou’s for the second time that day, the first for Monty. It was the best (and only) way she knew to care for those around her.

When she first hears the news, she shakes. 

Subtle vibrations throughout her body, unable to be controlled, as if every cell is revolting, crying out in pain. She shakes and shakes and shakes, unable to stop, not when the Head of House asks if she is okay, not when the older Duponts carry inside her mother’s crumpled form, eyes pitying, hope lost.

When she is dismissed, it is Athena she runs to. Athena, with her calm voice and soft hugs. Athena, who’d listened patiently over the years as she moaned and groaned and complained about every inconvenience, never judging, never impatient. Athena, the closest thing she has to an older sister. 

When she arrives, it is clear that Athena knows.

So they sit. They sit on the ground, silent. They sit for hours, until Selwyn stops shaking, until her emerald eyes no longer burn against the tears she refuses to spill. Athena’s hand moves to rest over hers. All is not lost, her touch whispers. You still have me.

A couple of weeks ago he'd ran into Athena at the bar, sharing a drink in the White Wyvern. They'd had a good time, enjoying light conversation and good company. Which is why when it came to select his date for the night, his choice had fallen on her. He had just gotten out of his relationship with Phoebe and she was a gorgeous witch who's company didn't annoy him, so it had been an easy choice for him. "You look gorgeous tonight by the way." He smiled at her as he extended his arm for her to take. "Are you looking forward to the wedding?" They'd just arrived a short while ago, looking around the premises.

"C'mon, you got it, you totally got it this time." Harry assured despite chuckling a bit on the subject. He was sitting next to her, arms crossed, looking at the same small screen. Finding a video game was... a challenge but after some cleaning and struggling, they managed to make one work, for the most part. It was a rhythmic game, really basic, almost guitar hero style.

“Depends on whether or not said being wished to do harm to others. I’ve come upon some beings whom Earth's people would possibly consider that of extraordinary powers, though none of them deemed themselves a ‘Demigod’ as you are refereeing.”

“If they meant to cause harm, I would likely try to talk them out of it, for the sake of Earth’s people. But if no other option presented itself, I would have to fight them to defend anyone they’d hurt. However if they didn’t mean harm, I’d be grateful to give them a chance to be called friend.”
