@athliotis// (cont. from here)
Wine red, nearly serpent-like eyes widen at his lord’s request--the fell god wishes for himself to exterminate the daughter of that navy-haired princeling? Said boy being the son of the man who led a crusade to slaughter every single Plegia all those years ago? The idea of killing a direct descendant from that gods damned bloodline causes for the sorcerer’s heart to race slightly with anticipation--he wants nothing more than to end the Falchion-wielding blood. Yet Validar is no fool--despite how arrogant the man is, he knows such a mission could be risky, for the daughter of the current Exalt, while she still has Falchion in her possession, is no laughing matter. Not if she has even half the tendency of her father to not be taken out easily. Still, though, the former king believes in his god far more than himself or anyone else in this life, and so trusts Grima will provide him with some means to capture or kill the girl in question--preferable without the need to have the fell dragon revive him once more. So, making his way to the front of his god’s throne, the dark-haired sorcerer kneels down before the other out of a deeply-rooted, fear and love-based respect for the dragon. The god could treat the man any way he sees fit, and still, Validar would be akin to the god’s loyal dog--his faith in the being would never waver, nor would it in the scriptures or teachings of the faith. The man has been taught since early childhood that Grima is the ultimate being, and so the man will treat him as such, even if it only brings him suffering and death.
“You speak of the Exalt’s daughter, my lord...If I am to capture or kill her, I will have to ask for the appropriate reinforcements,”
As he speaks, the man bows his head to the other, mostly out of respect, but also to hide a somewhat irritated look that threatens to come unto the male’s features, as the god’s slight shortness is not appreciated by someone like Validar. Still, though, he would never voice this out of respect, and so continues speaking after a slight pause.
“...I doubt the girl is alone. She is most likely accompanied by those other children. What am I do to with them? Kill them, as well?”

"...Chrom... Lissa... and all of my people...”
The words echoed loudly through the Exalt’s head. So loudly that she could barely make out her sister’s scream... or her brother’s sobs... or the king’s hysterical laughter. The only things she could comprehend now were her final thoughts and the fading world, spinning wildly around her.
"...know that I loved you...”
For as hot and bright as the Plegian sun had been a moment ago, things were beginning to get cold... dark... She could scarcely feel a thing. This was it. Before the Exalt closed her eyes, she heard another pair of voices. The Khans of Ferox. Her gambit had worked. Chrom, Lissa, and the Fire Emblem were safe. She could rest easy knowing that.
.....
Darkness... It was so terribly dark here... Were these the heavens she had prayed to since she was a girl, or... perhaps she hadn’t finished paying off the sins of her father. She was okay with either. She had made her peace with death long before Gangrel captured her, and now...
“R-Robin?” she gasped. The figure in the darkness was unmistakable. It was Chrom’s tactician, Robin. Had something terrible happened during the Shepherds’ retreat? She had to find out. “Robin, is that you?"
🔥 Video game mechanic
since the most recent game i played is fates, i guess i’ll talk about how much i hecking hate the concept of S-Ranks? and before you get at me, it’s not that i don’t like being able to marry units or marry them myself, it’s just that… it’s created a precedent for assuming any two characters can support will get married in the end if they’re het, and become BFFs otherwise. like, my first game was PoR and i still have to catch myself that i don’t start shipping people just because they have supports yanno?
here’s what i mean: in fates and awakening you get two types of relationships: BFF and Marriage. Elise can support with Benny, and that relationship has to end in marriage for the sake of an S rank, but why can’t they just be friends! ( shut up i know you can stop at an a rank that’s not my point ). A lot of supports even end their little story arc AT the s-rank anticipating marriage (henry and sumia’s, iirc? there’s a lot more)
but like, in the other games, you got an a rank and you had to guess what that would hold. in a lot of cases it IS marriage or bffs, but you’d also get relationships between siblings. some one accustomed to s-rank systems could open up magvel and think it’s scandalous that duessel and amelia can support, but thats a fucking good support!!!! THAT’S REALLY GOOD!!!!
i’m gonna die on the sike hill too but like… it is definitely pretty heteronormative and doesn’t leave for as much of a complex relationship between people of the same genders and w/e. i know we were all outraged that soleil wasn’t the lesbian option and she can’t actually S rank any girls, but like… it’s just bad ok.

At the Whim of Her Divine Saviour || {Naeva & Grima}
@athliotis
If one had told the sage some time ago that she would live long enough to serve the god which countless years of her life have been devoted to, Naeva would have simply dismissed the comment with a laugh-- turned them away before speaking of the foolish statement with either her husband, or one of the woman's four ladies-in-waiting. Yet here she stands, a single hand grazing over the patterns engraved into a pair of doors which loom not unlike an intimidating set of figures, but a metre or so away from the fell dragon himself-- or, at least, the vessel he is using; her dear child from another timeline, she has been told, for her own is still but a baby. Naeva's free arm embraces the swaddled newborn close to her chest, though such an action is not necessary, for a sling keeps them in place, and after a few more seconds pass, red lips curve up to form a ghost of a smile.
Thank goodness he graced the mother general with his presence, and bestowed upon her his wisdom before the female’s doubts could warp her thinking, guiding her back onto the path which destiny has so kindly laid out for the sage. Naeva could not be more grateful, for Grima has saved her. Robin is safe here-- the danger had been but the baseless worries of a new mother; a natural reaction to entering motherhood. Nothing worth abandoning the cause or her beloved partner over.
“Master Grima...?”
The two words escape from the mother’s form shortly after a few knocks make themselves heard, her voice soft in tone, but rising a little in volume. Has the woman been summoned by the other? No, yet given the situation Naeva now finds herself in, all she desires is to ensure that her god’s vessel is raised in a way that the fell dragon sees fit-- something which both herself and her husband have decided can be best deciphered by the ‘deity’ itself, who has witnessed what is yet to be.
“I apologise for disturbing you, O Great One, however... might I speak with you?”
