Jones Beach, in Nassau County not far from the city limits, has always been a popular escape for New Yorkers. Here is the 6.5 mile beach on July 4, 1952. At the right is the Jones Beach Theater.

Passage from Cacela Velha cemetery to garden and sea. In fact to the Atlantic Ocean. This cemetery is positioned at one of the most beautiful spots a cemetery can possibly be.
The historic 1960s Showboat Motel of Atlantic Beach, North Carolina was demolished in early July. It’s not clear when this motel last operated. Judging from Google Street View, its sign frame has been empty since at least 2007, if not earlier.
It sold in 2019 for $2,295,000 and will be replaced by a condominium complex. Downton Antiques was able to explore the property mid-demo, see more of their photos here.
