History/Biography
Eldest child of an Atlus family, house Arátë, Veryien was raised in Tevinter by an elven woman , Svala, and her husband, a human. From an early age, she knew there seemed to be an issue with her being elf-blooded, but her mother made sure that her and her brother did not let anyone take away their confidence because of it.
Attending a Circle of Magi did not prove much of an issue for Veryien, she made friends quickly despite her "problem", any insults or snide remarks were quickly disregarded with utmost grace, earning her praise and respect. Her confidence soared above and beyond, in her eyes, she had it all, beauty, style, battle ready abilities, however it is this attitude that would be her downfall.
She was stubborn, and as such set out from Tevinter with her lady-in-waiting, Kalistine, to the Brecilian Forest, where she would confront her mother's side of the family, The Uilos Clan, due to actions that had been taken against one of her mother’s bodyguards, Isilmesar, and his charge, her younger brother, Lakkam. Words were exchanged, but only bloodshed resulted as her cousin, Lindelea, upon her sisters order, rendered Veryien blind with one single attack.
Injured, ashamed and humiliated, she did not wish to go back to her mother in case of disappointment, ridicule, not only had she been horribly rebellious, but she had soiled her appearance, something her mother held in high esteem. As it turns out, her mother was nothing but comforting, vowing revenge on her daughters’ behalf, her and Kalistine getting to work in breaking apart the Uilos Clan
As time passed, she moved to her mothers circle in Afsaana, Rivain. She now trains herself in the ways of Knight Enchanter magic, without the use of her eyesight. With the help of Kalistine, an elven warrior wielding a rapier and daughter to her mothers old friend, and Damian Lyras, an elven mage that used to be part of the now corrupt Uilos clan.
She still vows for revenge.
