Adrift for Days- A Sleepless Grey (2017)

Llega desde la isla grande de Oceanía "A Sleepless Grey", el último disco de Adrift for Days. Suntuoso, lleno de capas y brotando con nitidez de la putrefacción, el a veces doom, a veces drone, a veces black y a veces ambient metal de los australianos es un placer que ningún amante del genero se debería perder. Y es que "A Sleepless Grey" ofrece algunas de las melodías más hermosas de la casa en el fondo de su sonoridad barroca y sombría que se vale de una producción detallista hasta la medula. El juego de composición que ofrecen las guitarras se desarrolla con naturalidad y a ellas se aúnan el bajo, los efectos del sintetizador, un purificado trabajo bateristico y la voz descabellada de Mick Kasilik.  Repleto de cambios rítmicos, el panorama de Adrift for Days es un iluminado campo de experimentación y afluencias varias que reconoce influencias majestuosas que van desde Pink Floyd a Earth pasando por Boris.  Un trabajo reflexivo como todo buen metal alternativo que se precie que otorga un sendero de exploración inacabable equilibrando luz y oscuridad en un compendio de texturas impresionante para el oyente atento a través de canciones épicas y desmesuradas en su confección y desarrollo.  Sin redundar, valiéndose de variaciones y oscuras armonías, los de Sydeny entregan su quinto disco de estudio en un contexto que los encuentra afincados más que nunca en su océano místico, exploradores infatigables de sus lúgubres atmosferas ambientales presentes aquí como nunca antes y llenas de solemnidad y potencia.
