What happens when a rocket goes supersonic while passing through cirrus clouds...
This morning I saw a sun halo with just a little bit of rainbow color along part of the inner edge.

I just took a bunch of pictures of the sun and clouds and they all look like this. I thought it was just my eyes doing that but apparently not.
A few minutes ago it was raining while the sun was shining so I looked out and lo and behold, a rainbow! It started as a double but by the time I got a raincoat and shoes on, only a piece of it remained. What was left was still beautiful.
