Character Thoughts
One thing that just gets me so much its how much Creature fucking confuses Atom. This fifteen year old City kid who he meets in an abandoned Drac unit in Zone 4 who has bright blue hair and a tattoo of a rainbow on her hip. How she's only been out there for two months and she's already got the shit eating grin and the ray gun pointed at a dracs skull. How she has those same scars his mom had and how it reminds him of the awful things BLI did to them but he still traces them and accepts the fact they will always be there and that they made her into the person she was. How she was a legacy in the same way he was and how she knew what it was like to have to live up to your parents reputation. How it felt to be so and sos kid. He was Sandmans son and she was Mourning Liliths daughter and basically Kobra Kids kid now. And she knew how that felt. And she was so strong and so pure killjoy that he forgot sometimes that she had the nightmares with white walls and black roads and men in masks marching down the street except when she woke up crying and he had to tell her "I know, Creature, I know." She confused him because she was some blue haired city kid who wrote such pretty words and some how made him love someone again and oh my god that terrifies him because he's seen what they can do to you and she terrifies him. And he loves her so intensely that it makes his chest hurt and his bones ache. And she terrifies him.
