Neutron HCs because yeag
1. Neutrons are the smallest, Electrons changing height and Protons being giants, Neutrons average at around 4'5 feet tall. This makes them subject to a little ridicule.
2. Neutrons NEED social interaction. Protons and Electrons can survive their entire lives without any interaction and will face no mental complications. Neutrons need to be around others in order to stay healthy, and very few find this out the easy way, especially introverts. A Neutron will show no signs of needing company until it boils over completely, it takes a few hours but they soon become jittery and irrationally touchy and emotional, which is deeply distressing to the Neutron. This is why you usually find Neutrons clinging to at least 1 other atomic particle. If you happen to wake up cuddled next to a Neutron, leave em be, they need that.
3. Neutrons have ports to connect to Electrons, I mean, how else do you think they make Atoms? Newly made Neutrons don't have that protective thick skin around their port, as it is made from dead skin cells.
5. Neutrons, if touched directly by a Proton, will fuse their skin together. I mean, how else do you make Atoms? This is also theorised to be the reason Protons have legs, more skin contact. They can pull apart, no worries, but the more skin they have connected, the more energy (in the form of a bright flash) will be released. This energy also comes in the form of a loud boom, so Protons working with Neutrons tend to wear gloves, and vice versa.
6. Neutrons do not get affected when connecting with an Electron, mainly just regulating the mood of the two. Neutrons also like doing this as a form of holding hands with Electrons, since, depending on the Neutron you ask, it is completely platonic or very romantic. Ask before you plug!
7. Neutrons have trouble finding fitting clothes, being too short for Bermuda Proton shorts, but too tall for most Electron pants. And specifically Neutron clothes are very hard to find in stores, and when they are finally restocked, they sell like hotcakes. Most Neutrons know every size guide for all three Atomic particles, and learn it young.
8. Neutrons are humanistic, Protons doglike, and Electrons catlike. Also contributing to their need for socialising, since Humans are known for packbonding and want for friends. Neutrons also are the only Atomic particle to have thumbs in the same place as us
9. Neutrons are not good at flying, at least, most of them. Same goes for Protons! This is because most of them learn to walk, and their center of mass is much lower, and while some of both Protons and Neutrons are born flying due to a mutation also found in Electrons that tells the particle to not form legs fully (nubs), most would have to learn to fly, either by self taught training or going to classes usually taught by Electrons.
