Summer time is here and Tiki art has long been a part of this season. So I'm featuring some art I did for a game called Atomic Tiki. For this one, I started with a rough pencil sketch, focusing a bold Tiki shapes and exaggerated features to capture the intensity of the tiki mask. Then made a background based on patterns associated with the Tiki motif. In Photoshop I stared refining the drawing and created the basic shapes. I then layered in vibrant colors, using warm tones for the mask and add the background pattern, to enhance the atomic theme. Finally, I incorporated atomic symbols and refined the lighting to bring depth and cohesion to the piece, ensuring it matched the game’s aesthetic. Similarly with the logo that I created for the game.

Mel and I are new to the Witco scene, but we have had a few of the smaller pieces. Our friend Tracy at m.a.r.k. Vintage reached out to us to see if we were interested in this tiki end table she picked up. Mel and I hopped in the car and shot over the next day.

Mel and I recently came across this really cool set on Craigslist and thought if we refinished it, the set would be one to go crazy over.
