This little lady will finally be going up in my BigCartel tonight too. I made Tessla as a part of my Atomic Candy Cosmonauts series, but I fell in love with her and decided to let her chill in my studio for a while. Sometimes the thought of parting with a piece is too hard to take all at once and I have to give it time. I have a super expensive surgery coming up that insurance is dicking me around on, so tough calls are having to be made. Survival is a heartbreaker sometimes! I think Philly wanted to keep me...🤔😷😅20 mins down the road after leaving, my breakfast decided it wanted to stay, and since then pretty much everything from this weekend has decided to abandon Ship Mab (i.e. puking) . @mabgraves crazy new piece for her 'Atomic Candy Cosmonauts' opening April 1st @archenemyarts !!・・・ Here's a full shot of my piece "Andromeda" for my Atomic Candy Cosmonauts show @archenemyarts - one week away! This is the first time I've ever done a 9-piece painting ^_^ Andromeda is surrounded here by miniature portraits of sentient Protista aliens 👽🚀✨ On Aliens for this series: I think our collective human consciousness has been evolving with our rapidly growing knowledge of Space, and basically everyone you talk to now will admit that they believe there must be some other forms of life out there. So advancing that premise to the next step – what will aliens look like? For the universe of my Atomic Candy Cosmonauts instead of painting time honored little green men or iconic alien Greys I chose to depict the Extra Terrestrial life as giant floating Protista – which here on Earth are very basic-celled, visually exquisite organisms sharing their own unique kingdom of life (not animal, plant or fungi). As much as I think it would be incredibly awesome to discover humanoid life in outer space, I feel like the most likely initial awareness of life beyond ours in our current dimension will probably be something similar – cool cellular blobs ^_^.
