After the first Lee Iococa-ordered 'pony' rolled off the assembly line in 1964 the Ford Mustang had its first redesign in 1967, increasing the cars overall size to accommodate the model's first big-block V8 and enabling it to join the ranks of the classic American muscle car. In 2017 Detroit artist Camilo Pardo participated in the annual @MuralsintheMarket festival, adding this mural on Alfred St commemorating the 50th birthday of that milestone. After graduating from @CCS_Detroit Pardo went to work at Ford Design Center, and after 15 years working in a variety of capacities both at home and abroad he took on his 'ultimate' assignment—a redesign of the classic Ford GT race car." In his off hours Pardo continued to explore art and design, creating an impressive body of automotive and figurative paintings and prints. @camilopardoart/

#TBT to one of my favorite shots I’ve taken, @heypatyeah at 5:30 am in #Detroit for 2017’s @muralsinthemarket! The light you see in the building/piece was on an overnight timer and shooting the mural correctly required that I wake up at the butt crack of dawn and meet the master #PatPerry at his #GratiotAve wall just outside the #easternmarket! I remember the morning was a bit misty but the cloud coverage was perfect for the shoot and the really high shots from #UpInTheLift truly captured the scale with the city skyline in the background.
