Suddenly, I remembered that day.
It was in a bright place, on a bright day.
A quiet place that was never meant to be crowded.
An ice cream in my hand,
and suddenly everything became unexpected.
The way you all looked at me was not exactly warm,
but it was full of curiosity.
There was also a trace of fear in your eyes —
so curious about what would happen,
about what this small new human
was meant to be.
It was the beginning of something
for those who once believed
that boundaries existed only among themselves.
And yet, someone new — strange, different, unpredictable —
opened a door that had never existed before.
The door was small,
but I'm sure,
Inside, it was vast.
Immeasurable.
Little by little,
that space began to fill —
and to be filled.
Yes, it turned out that loyalty
was not meant only for one another.
It could also be given from me,
and toward me —
this foolish self
who understood nothing
except how to lean in so comfortably,
to pull close,
to bind so deeply
with the same knot,
to anyone who had come to know me,
even if they had only just learned my name.
That was me,
to all of you.
