today i discovered you can get a lil shark cat in your settlement for a few maps from one of the world events. she just hangs out and wanders around and you can pet her and she meows and purrs (she also gives you a resolve and production speed boost) and apparently i petted her a lot because

the bats in against the storm are so funny. their buildings are all goth cathedrals. they are little haters who reward you for banishing other villagers. they don't have a comfort bonus because they're proud of being more resilient than others but they see one (1) raindrop and it's like that when it rains in LA video where they're crying and screaming and their resolve goes to -10000. they're such edgelords that you can't even favor them. they talk like darth vader
