well i mean that was the point, the avatar was supposed to spend like a decade learning all elements, aang was a 12 year old who had to learn it in less than a year. its a stressful journey, and the child in love with another child is normal for kids. they tend to think of romance alot even at the point in time where they dont have full grasp on their feelings but rather, romance is just being a part of adventure to children.
That is true, and I respect that, but....maybe this is just me, kids don’t like romance...and when kids do its cause its done right, like Beauty and the Beast....Animated version, they show the relationship working and evolving. Air Bender is more action oriented as it should since saving the world is important [unlike Beauty and the Beast where romance is first], but that asks why put that on a 12-year-old’s shoulders? ...aka someone who isn’t even a teen....if, it was a teen the pressure of actually fixing the world make senses since teens will soon be adults and have to try and fix the fucked up world. Plus the WHOLE series they could have built up the romance of the end game ship, but it's more of a footnote...and a really sloppy one too in my thoughts. [And other fans seemed to have an issue with it too,] That and what they are doing from what I hear with Voltron makes me think these people have no idea how romance really works and have no idea how to write it either.....but that is just my thoughts on the issue.
