centering whiteness

I am getting kind of worn out talking/thinking about whiteness. We spend so much time in the US with white as the default race/culture, and so much energy talking about other people-races-cultures in opposition to whiteness, in comparison to whiteness, how X group relates to whiteness. Even when we are talking about discrimination and other negative issues, we center around whiteness and it seems like it gets all the attention. It's tiring. 

I think that's why I have been getting so into certain kind of reading lately, that explores other races/culture that have whiteness included as an afterthought or not at all.

Attention.

Letting people control you is something people naturally do. People want attention, could be more or less. People, even ourselves, will beg for attention. What do people get out of attention though? Some people get attention because they earned it. Some people get attention because they just feel alone. Other people get attention because if they aren't in the spotlight, they'll go mad. Those other people --- SHUT UP.
