"are you kidding me?” pj questioned aloud in a tone laced with disbelief. was she going out of her way to offend him? his little sister could be a real pain sometimes. i guess it runs in the family, he thought, a barely perceptible chuckle slipping past his lips. maybe he would have been more understanding of what his sister was saying if she had been the least bit amusing with her criticism of his favorite girl group. instead, she only seemed like a jerk. everything she was saying went against pj’s golden rule: it’s only okay to be an asshole if you’re funny about it.
“oh my god,” he groaned, shoving his phone into his pocket before rubbing at his temples. he had every intention of heading straight into the bakery he’d been loitering outside of, where he could stuff his face full of anything that would take his mind off of his frustration. when he looked up, however, a nearby girl caught his attention. “hey, you,” he called out to the stranger with no hesitation, pointing in her direction. “you look like someone with good taste, so... mind helping me settle an argument?” he didn’t wait for an answer before approaching the girl, readying for his follow-up question. “you’ve heard and*roma’s new song, right?”
