Q&A with The Hundreds
Last Thursday, the good people at the Attic held a Question and Answers panel with The Hundreds founders Ben and Bobby. This event was something for many young streetwear and fashion entrepreneurs attended. They usually learn about the stories and struggles that Ben and Bobby faced as they started, while also learning what they are still facing now as The Hundreds continues their journey.
Ben & Bobby Hundreds
The former law students decided in 2003 to create a company that expresses themselves through t-shirts. With little resources to the internet, Ben and Bobby made their first shirts from a biker owned station in the Valley. At first, the printers didn’t think Ben and Bobby weren’t serious until they came back week after week with bigger number of orders.

As the years went on, The Hundreds have been noticed for numerous collaborations, warehouse sales, and projects with the community. An example of a big collaboration that was talked about was when The Hundreds and Disney made “The Lost Boys” shirt. Bobby mentioned that this collaboration broke so many rules in the street wear community and with Disney. Some rules that were broken were the font usage of Disney written in The Hundreds, “The Lost Boys” wearing The Hundreds shirt, and important copyright issues.

As the Q&A went on, many young minds were blown away with the story and answers that The Hundreds told audience members. I asked what further collaborations or projects can we be expecting. In response, there will be a few new projects coming up soon and these projects are something to look forward to. One event that is coming up soon is The Hundreds Cool Cats & Hot Dogs. In conclusion of the Q&A, a few quotes stuck out to me.
“I write checks, he writes blogs” – Ben
“Make noise” ; “Ignorance is bliss” – Bobby
