Atticus at a glance

Atticus is the son of Alastor, who is a result of an arranged marriage. (He’s written to be compatible with any interpretation of Alastor’s sexual and romantic orientation.)

Personality wise, he’s your typical angsty, emotionally closed off, mentally ill teenager. Though, he is secretly a sweetheart.

Backstory

During his lifetime, Alastor was in an arranged marriage with Atticus's mother, Penelope, and they were pressured into having an heir. Throughout Atticus's childhood, Alastor absolutely doted on Atticus, while his mother was neglectful, seeing Atticus as little more than a ball and chain.

When Alastor died in 1933, when Atticus was ten years old, Atticus's mental health went on a downward spiral. He became a husk of the happy kid he once was. He no longer had a parent who cared about him, and he just became worse and worse. He began engaging in self-destructive behaviors; not like drugs or alcohol, but like more like deliberately putting himself in life threatening situations to see if he could survive, and also various other forms of self-harm. His mental breakdowns were especially concerning, and his mother had threatened to put him an an insane asylum several times.

In 1940, when Atticus was seventeen, things took an even darker turn. That year, all of Alastor's murders had finally been traced back to him. Atticus was drawing in his room, listening to the radio, when this was announced. In that moment, what little sanity Atticus had previously held onto was gone.

His father, the man who he had love and idolized and mourned, was a cannibalistic, cold-blooded killer.

That was all Atticus needed to hear to put him over the edge. That same day, Atticus used Alastor's old pistol to shoot himself in the head.

Since suicide is technically considered a sin, Atticus ended up in Hell. It only took him a few days to realize that the infamous Radio Demon was his father. A part of him wanted to find him, either to reunite with him or berate him for his crimes.

But Atticus didn't have the guts, so he spent his afterlife on the streets of Hell, hiding his deer features so that no one would connect him with the radio demon.

After decades of this, he heard about the Hazbin Hotel. Despite the fact that his father was the co-owner, he decided to go there anyway. It was free food and shelter, and he had nothing better to do.

If he's harmed by a non-angelic weapon, he'll react like a cartoon character, i.e. being flattened, getting a bump on his head, being twisted or stretched. He bounces back very fast.

This is a depiction of Atticus and Danny when they first met. Basically, Danny pulled Atticus into one of his antics.

These aren't specifically meant to go with their accompanying hairstyles. The mix-match was just to show the two different hairstyles and ear variations.

The hairstyle on the bottom is one he gets later into his timeline, while the one on the top is the one he starts out with.

His ears are usually drooping by default, but when he feels a high energy emotion, whether that be a negative or positive one, they perk up.
