ThrowBack Bus Story Tuesday #1
A big group of us were at the bus stop waiting for our buses. some rude clowns drive by in their car and yelled very rude things, barked at us and called us losers. they then caught the red light a yard away, so these two old cholas freaked out! Started yelling shit back like "ain't NO BODY disrespect me!!!" And "i know how to fight!" then the one with the tear drop tattooed under her eye kicks the guys car all crazy hard with her timbalands and made a huge dent in his side door, it was AWESOME!!! those idiots just got all scared, rolled up their windows and almost hit the car in front of them trying to get away. weak ass shit! that's what they get for being rude.
Fuck those guys! Don't mess with bus people, we will fuck you and yo shit up!
ain't got no time for no fakery
There is a lady that often rides my regular bus. She's polite, keeps to herself and has a presence that demands respect. She's always dressed very nicely in pressed slacks, pencil skirts, fancy blouses and blazers, very business office attire. My regular bus is pretty ghetto so clearly she stands out because of her fancy outfits but there is also another reason she stands out...she is covered in gang and prison tattoos. i've only seen her arms and head/neck area unclothed but they start from her forehead and go to her temples, her eyes, her neck, her chest, and all of her arms. some hardcore shit too! including 3 tear drops under her eyes. without knowing this lady and without ever talking to her i can tell you she's definitely been to prison, she's gangsta as fuck and she's had a hard life. although, it seems now she is really trying to get her life together. i like seeing people like this on the bus cuz they always give me hope for myself, to be better and shit, ya know? Not long ago she was sitting near the front of the bus reading a book when this tall, white, ghetto dressed looking young man got on the bus. He immediately spotted her and went to stand by her. At this point i was watching all this happen and i was freaking the fuck out!!! I almost couldn't believe what i was seeing. You see, this kid who got on the bus had some bunk ass tattoos including a tear drop tattoo under his eye. Seeing him approach her was like a crazy, amazing, unbelievable clashing! I'd seen this kid on the bus before and as far as i was concerned he was a huge poser, it was clear by his demeanor. There was nothing that hard or gangsta about this kid at all, oh except his sagging jeans i guess, but not really. When he started talking to this lady my head just about exploded! I couldn't over hear as well as i would have wanted but what i did catch was golden. He started by complementing and asking her about her tattoos. She was polite to him and raised her head from her book to look at him and gave him the best smirk i think I've ever seen from anyone. She responded to him with pretty much the same question but she went straight to the point. "Where did you get that tear drop from? who is it for?"
this clown responds with "uh, uh, my friend did this (pointing at his tear drop tattoo) just messing around with his new needles at the apartment"
ugh, worst answer ever! but i think he panicked and couldn't even lie.
she just looked at him with a look i could only describe as judgy yet compassionate.
then she said something that i couldn't really hear followed by her pointing to her tear drop tattoos and saying "...well i earned these, son" and went back to reading her book.
CLASSIC!!!
all i wanted to do at that point was get up and say "OOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!"
especially after the kid started to walk away to go sit in the back of the bus cuz he done got schooled!
there's such a contrast of people on the bus and i absolutely LOVE seeing encounters like these! it's like seeing old school meets new school or keepin it real meets keepin it fake. too many posers out there! it's nice to see when they get put in their place. cuz for real, call me old fashioned but if you did not murder somebody, preferably in cold blood, you have no business having a tear drop tattoo under yo eye! if you do then that right there is called some fakery! and you got to get outta here with that mess!
but also, every time i see old school cholas like this i can't help but think, what if that would of been me? i'm thankful everyday for the good choices i made when they counted cuz so many hommies of mine didn't make it out. but it's like they say, you can take the hood rat out of the hood but you can't....
on bended knee...not like the song.
i was on the bus at a later time than usual going home. all of a sudden a man came near me, looked at me, smiled and then proceeded to get down on one knee. i didn't know what the hell was going on, i just looked around to see if anyone had any clues to make sense of it. but of course everyone was staring at me and this strange man knelled before me. he looked like he was around my age and fairly good looking but i had never seen him in my life. so this fool proceeds to take my hand (which i immediately pulled away from him) and ask me if i would be interested in being his girlfriend. i was speechless. all i felt at that moment was all the eyes of the fellow passengers on me waiting to see what i was going to say. i could feel all their judgy looks upon me and I could feel the chunks start to rise up in my throat, i had to get out! so i did. i said nothing and as soon as the bus came to the next stop i got off in a rush. i wasn't even that close to home but i didn't care, i just walked the rest of the way. real talk tho, i think what tripped me up the most was that the guy was actually pretty cute, i almost thought about saying yes for a split second. but can't be doing that, what if he was a murderer!? you just never know these days...i'm gonna feel real stupid tho if i end up old and alone, maybe that was my one chance at serendipitous true love. you just never know these days.
found jeans and undies on tha streets of the ATX...
The Power of One Word
Yesterday something happened on the bus that i have no one word to describe.
The bus was full, it was the bus i ride pretty much everyday that goes through the east side and there are rarely any white people on this bus.
so there's this black man that often rides the bus that talks really loud, and doesn't have the best vocabulary, the bus driver often has to tell him to keep it down.
Yesterday, he started going off about something in his loud ass voice and he was saying the n-word this, n-word that talking shit and just repeating it over and over which he often does. well, this time someone on the bus who was not black (he could have been hispanic or white) called him out and said "yo, man, can you not say that word!? its not cool, i don't like that word!"
ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!!!
Many other black, hispanic, asian and white people agreed with the man that said he didn't like that word and argued and fought to defend the man that did the calling out. while others agreed with the black man and said they had a right to use that word if they were black.
People stood up and got in each other faces, there was so much yelling and negativity at one point i felt so over whelmed i felt like i needed to throw up. Luckily i was sitting towards the front of the bus and the core of the altercation was in the back of the bus but it was still so crazy!
The bus driver kept yelling at everyone to stop while he tried to make his way to the back to stop people from getting in full on fist fights.
There was a lot of passion and rage on that bus in that moment. Eventually the bus driver threatened to kick everyone off and people started to calm down. Some people were so enraged they just got off the bus. As people sat back down the bus drove on in a silence that made my stomach churn. Eventually someone said "isn't it a nice day!" and things got a little lighter, i was so glad i was almost to my stop cuz that was one of the most intense bus rides ever.
To be completely honest i didn't even know what kind of opinion to have on that whole situation and i still don't.
All i have ever known about that word is that it's associated with lots of pain and negativity and i don't use it in any way whatsoever.
I'm still left with a lot of feelings about this situation that i just can't sort out but i'm always thankful this is the kind of real life i get to experience. Cuz when shit gets really real on the bus you gon be feelin shit you ain't never felt before!
what!? you tryna mug me?!...Bitch Please!
i had just left my house. i was about a block away, walking in my hood, minding my own business like i always do when i passed three teenagers. right as they walked passed me and were out of my peripheral vision they came up behind me (a real pussy move) and jumped me and twisted my arm all crazy to try to get my purse. well, i was not even about to let some punk kids take my purse! shit, i got important stuff in there not to mention at the time a great amount of cash money! and that cash was the main thing on my mind when i fought back and tried to smack the kid that punched me. they weren’t giving up that easy either so when i fought back one of them knocked me to the ground and tried to take my purse from my clutch, but like i said i wasn’t letting that shit go, so even as i was on the ground i said “fuck you!” and struggled with them to keep my damn purse. they looked at me like i was done and i was just gonna stay on the ground. the smaller kid even tried to kick me while i was down. then they started to run off but being the bad bitch that i am, i got right back up and started chasing after them. the look on their faces when i ran after them was pretty amazing! especially after i started yelling calling them bitches and saying “what!? two of y’all cant even steal a purse from a girl! BIIIITTCHES!!!” i of course didn’t catch up to them, their young teenage legs were way too fast for me and i was so pissed who knows what i would have done if i caught up to them (at this point the 3rd kid was gone, he got scared and ran in the other direction) i’m sure these kids saw me in my pink cardigan, and fancy dress with my flowery purse and thought i was just another weak ass east side yuppie bitch, they had no idea that i was raised by the ghetto and been watching my back and fighting bitches since i could write in cursive. well jokes on them! I don’t allow people to disrespect me. I just don’t stand for that bullshit and i was most definitely not letting some punk ass bitch kids disrespect me without letting them know that I DON’T PLAY!
Bus Stop Quotes...five.
"La ruca went ahead and signed papers that said she no wanna live no mo, cuz se estaba dying"
Translation: The woman signed documents stating to pull her plug because she was dying anyway.
I was waiting at the bus stop with two spanglish speaking men this morning, they were gossiping about some lady who just died.
