in the chrysalis , the caterpillar consumes itself.
guardian angels glimmer like fireflies they will be olvido- forgotten. under the arches of history todo ha pasado ya- all has gone, now. pero no los sabras- you will not know y no habras de saberlo ya jamas- and you will never know this weighs heavily on my mind. you are a spring sparrow, the tree is a cloud we are still learning, to sing out loud- the butterfly is, the green room.

Thank you @remnantrepository !
Okay, this is something my linguistics-oriented brain has been obsessed with ever since I first read it. I need to know for the sake of intellectual curiosity.
Is "neta" yet another example of a Spanglish word that's made it into the common Latin-American lexicon, like how "truck" is "troca" and "to park" translates into "parquear"?
(For context, I'm a native Spanish-speaker, but from Spain. Here, net means "red". That's why this caught my eye and I am genuinely so curious to know!!)

Almost 3 years late to the party, but I'm watching Blue Beetle (2023) for the fist time and damn I think this has to be one of the only times I've seen a mexican inmigrant family in a movie that feels realistic and not a caricature of steotypes. Of course, it's a little exagerated for comedy, and still! I'm not cringing at the way everyone talks!
The older members of the family who are suposed to be native speakers actually speak spanish like native speakers! The kids of course speak more in english but it still sounds so good!
I know I complain a lot on here about how english speakers write when characters speak with spanish interjections, well if you want examples this is a great one! This is how an actual inmigrant family who speaks spanglish sounds like! Everything felt so natural!
And they got Damián Alcázar to play the dad! Do you guys have any idea who that is?? He is a TITAN of an actor. A leyend of modern mexican cinema. Eight times winner of the Ariel award. And I had no idea he was in this movie!
I'm enjoying this a lot.
Happy (belated) 38th Anniversary to Mega Man! Who’s laughing now?! 😭💙✨
