sorry i dont know what fic specifically to ask for but, any that come to mind generically for questions #13 and #15
I think I’ll go with my fanon clone au for this one !
13. What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?
For Attack of the Fanon: Clone Wars, I didn’t really listen to music at all, but the only parts that need music are the meme clones. and its that one song that goes like “dadada da- its the d-o-double-g SNOOP DOOOOOOOOOOGG”. Plus any scene with jotaro and kakyoin talking should just be elevator music (elevatorstiuck).
In all seriousness though, i would recommend reading the scene where yanderetaro is introduced with “Sis Puella Magica!” from the madoka soundtrack, starting at the line “Nori… I didn’t expect to find you to be so easy to find…” and timing the swell of the music to “Noriaki knew the true face of fear, and this clone sure as hell wasn’t it.”… that choir and the visuals of minoris rich little bed in a dingy warehouse, maybe with kakyoins silhouette illuminated against the backdrop of green satin….. that smile yanderetaro has that you should never trust….
its an unexpectedly dark scene in a rather silly chapter, after all, aha
15. What did you learn while writing this fic?
I learned that the line between spite and malice is thin, as is the line between canon and fanon. I think writing my Jotaro and Kakyoin against the far worse clones, I came to the realization that in the end, even if I worked hard on getting my characterization as close to Araki’s as possible, I’m still writing a fanon version of them- because in the end, the only canon can come from the hands of the author who created the characters in the first place.
As for the line between malice and spite, there were actually a few other clone pairs that were to be introduced, but then I realized that they started to resemble the characterizations of a few actual artists and writers who aren’t by any stretch of the imagination bad, and stopped myself short. Even if I didn’t agree with these characterizations, it’s not my place to mock them, since they are by and large still fairly faithful to the original and are enjoyable pieces of content in their own right.
That’s why of all the fanon versions of Jotaro and Kakyoin, they’re portrayed as extremely over the top and especially bad. They’re not meant to be malicious to specific content creators in the fandom- they’re meant to mock the more prevalent tropes that proliferate, and act as exaggerated mirrors of like one or two of the og Jotaro and Kakyoin’s traits. They’re meant to be funny and silly and maybe have some hidden depth to them as they begin to invert the tropes they represent- because, though twisted, even clones like clampyoin and yanderetaro have a seed of truth that can become the beginning of a much more interesting narrative, should the concept be done well.
Except for milfhunter Kakyoin and Dolphinfucker Jotaro. Those two are absolutely mocking and I stand by my hatred of both those shitty stupid fucking memes. Nothing of value there folks, move along
