So Red Rising thing I discovered thoday: The au Barcas are named after, or share a name with, at any rate, the Carthiginian general Hannibal Barca, usually referred to just as Hannibal. Names borrowed from Roman history abound in RR, so it isn’t really a surprise (and it’s appropriate that that family, out of all of them, would have the Carthiginian name rather than Roman), but I hadn’t been aware of it and thought you guys might like to know.
