Lets talk about that AU a bit then. Mind you this is the first draft and I've kept a lot of it in my head, so I am throwing a lot out at the wall for the first time and may change my mind.
I have a list of 'rules' for this that I I will mix in with various facts here for ease of communicating. I could go on forever about it though, and I'm very open to doing so.
Timeline change. Playtime Co. is established in the same decade as before, but a great overhaul happens in the mid 90s to their branding after the purchase of a new location. [*]
This building is a retired and mostly underground military facility in the western United States that is basically falling apart when Playtime Co. obtains it as part of a land purchase. [*]
The Bigger Bodies Initiative begins in 2006 or 2007 and faces major funding loss in 2008 due to economic crash. [*]
The facility is not as deep as the games show, going 'deeper' is more metaphorical and you are actually traveling towards it's center once you get under the visitor areas. Think of a shallow cone, or a labyrinth.
The grabpack hands cease being able to unlock things after you pass public and immediate staff areas. They are just for show up there. They are still useful for grabbing and climbing around, but since this isn't a game I don't need to keep a game mechanic otherwise.
Playtime Co. still exists. This is only one of their visitor locations and they have many factories.
Thousands of children do not die. Relatively very few actually in comparison to what the game shows. There are also more teens and adults who are experimented on.
Playtime's scientists began with lab animals First, and they make up the majority of the critters.
No massive piles of rotting bodies unless I specifically want that area to be a biohazard to everything.
There might be some kind of disease or parasite involved somewhere [*]
Dr. Sawyer has a lot more control of the building. I would like to get into it more in it's own dedicated posts with artwork when I make it, but he is essentially The Building like he hints at when first interacting. He is more aware of what's closer to his brain faster.
In trade for this Dr. Sawyer does not have multiple bodies he can jump into. He only has one, and he doesn't like using it. For reasons.
He still possesses the omni-hand as the only hand below that works as an ID. It is also wired into him with his own nerves so it needs to be ripped off.
Toys are redesigned to better match toy trends in their time period, and some new ones will be made.
Leith Pierre is a furry. Toy design is biased.
[*] = This is stuff that isn't solid. Either because I wanna get in more research or I'm just thinking about it as a possibility.
There's a lott more like I said, but this is all the basic stuff I've got. I actually intended to save anything about Sawyer until much later but I can't help myself I need to get esoteric about that dude.
