Aly and Sadruddin were summoned to the Barakat but their dying father could no longer speak. Karim came and the Begum was still keeping up her vigil. Four doctors were in attendance and nurses left the sick-room only to change their clothes or take a bite. At midday, the Aga Khan was sleeping peacefully. Imam Aqa ‘Ali Shah Aga Khan II (1881-1885): Al-Wa‘z Abualy Aziz reports from Sayyid Mushtaqali Didarali that when Mawlānā Aga ‘Ali Shah was the Pīr of the Isma‘ilis during the Imamat of his father, Mawlānā Aga Hasan ‘Ali Shah, the Pīr would perform all Jamatkhana ceremonies (such as Dū‘ā’) while the Imam of the Time would be present. Similarly, Pir Shihab al-Din Shah would lead the Jamat in the performance of Dū‘ā’ whenever he visited the Jamatkhana.
