The late Imam’s wife, Bibi Pir Sarkar Mata Salamat I went to the Qajar court, demanding justice for the new Imam and his family. The pleas were successful: Fateh ‘Ali Shah Qajar brought the murderers to justice, bestowed the title of “Aga Khan” on Imam Hasan ‘Ali Shah, gave one of his daughters in marriage to the Imam, granted the Imam land and appointed him as the governor of Qumm in 1835.
