Lunarill’s protectors (Fantasy Verse)

(warning I suck at coming up with Fantasy names)

In the large city of Lunarill, sitting on a small hill towards the back of the town is a large fortified manor. Out front is a lush growing garden with a alabaster path from the beginning of the property to the front door. This is Luther Manor, named after the man who built it. It was once where the leader of the town lived but has since been taken over as a base by a group of adventurers.

Jess had come to be a member of this merry band when she found them wandering her home: Dragon’s keep. After helping them take down some vagabonds intent on giving them a hard time, they agreed to let her join and she’s been with them ever since. Her background is more. . .royal than she would ever admit. She had the luck of being born into the family of the nearby king who in his ‘kindness’ had given his 5 siblings all the titles of lord/lady and had given them pieces of land to rule over. She had been born into the family of the protectors of Dragon’s Keep where the raven is on their family crest.

With the title of heir secure in her eldest brother, she was given freedom to roam whatever she wished or learn whatever she wanted to. A gift she never took for granted, close with one of her older brothers. The two of them learned the way of the woods, learning how to make their steps silent, how to slip into the shadows. The two became quite stealthy, a gift that showed its weight in gold when weapons training started.

Jess chose knives and learnt the way of the blade, throwing them with near perfect accuracy. When the band came to town and she left with them, she left nothing behind. On the way back to Lunarill she discovered an interesting power she never knew she had: She could turn into a raven for a short period of time. She wrote to her parents about it and discovered it was a power that all of her family shared. While she was annoyed they’ve never tried teaching it to her, Max the magic man of the group offered to teach her to see what other sorts of magic she could learn to control.

She has mastered shifting forms but other magic is. . .hard and still takes quite a lot out of her but in celebration of her learning to control her shifting, her parents sent a bunch of raven themed clothes. Jess’s favourite being an enchanted cloak that she soon learned could hide the wearer in shadows. Something she has used many a time in her adventures with the group.

The band themselves travels the land upon request and often go off to fight villains or evil creatures or even to find people, always asking for money in return. No job is too great if you have the money to pay for it but sometimes just sometimes, they’ll fight for the people out of the good of their hearts. Especially for family of another member. The Band are like family to one another and once you’re in their group, you’re always welcome back.

Murkoff Always Wins (Outlast Trials Verse)

Jess has no idea how long she's been here in Sinyala. The days blur into one another and she has long since given up trying to fight against time. Often just spending her free-time in the kitchen, seated close enough to the Shadowy Dame that no one will give her a hard time. She didn't want to spend another period in solitary.

The Trials are the only thing that's different in her week-to-week and even those are beginning to become something she has a script for.

Go here, do this, avoid them, destroy that, hit this. Escape.

She is still adapting to losing her pinky in an "accident" she wouldn't call Leland Coyle breaking her finger an accident then her losing it in a trap while it was still healing.

She would call that torture and abuse.

But then again she supposed that's all this was. Torture and Abuse disguised as therapy. Disguised as Science.

It was human cruelty pure and simple.

Day by Day (LaDS verse)

When Amelia and Scott both came to her and asked her to move to Linkon City with them from Chansia, Jess fought them on it for a bit. Confused and a little annoyed that her brother and best friend were asking her to just uproot her life, just to make theirs easier.

She did eventually cave as they were two of her favourite people- much as they knew she would- but put in the caveat that she would stay only until they had somewhere to stay that wouldn't require 3 paychecks.

That was met with delighted squealing from Amelia and a tight hug from them both.

They now live out of a rented two-bedroom townhouse in the Bloomshore district. Regretably Jess was not able to bring her three dogs with her, instead leaving them in her father and step-mother's hands.

Now came the challenge of settling into a new city but at least she wasn't alone in it.

The Entity's Realm (Dead By Daylight AU)

Jess wasn't quite sure where she was.

The area around her, the cabins, the familiar gravel path with its unfamiliar fog.

Seeing Camp Half-Blood or at least a part of it like this was unsettling

She couldn't hear the usual singing or joking bickering coming from The Apollo or Hermes cabins, couldn't smell the sweet Strawberries that some of the Demeter kids had out front of their sitting area for people to take.

The air was still and silent.

Even her footsteps sounded muffled as she slowly traced the path towards her cabin. Hades Cabin.

The outside was dark, the lanterns dull and she felt a familiar chill run up her spine. Found herself swallowing around a lump in her throat as she slowly turned around, spotting two glowing eyes and a large winged figure slowly rising from the top of one of the other cabins.

With a snarl, it launched itself at her and she bolted.

Hearing the flapping of wings behind her, she practically flew across the housing grounds. Never stopping once to so much as a glance behind her.

Making a break for the tree line, she managed to dive under a large branch just as a claw barely missed her back.

Bolting further into the dense forest, she navigated through cracks between trees and over fallen logs. She had no way to go but forward even as the fog closed in, making it harder to breathe, harder to see

Before light

Clearing the forest, she found herself by a campfire, huffing and panting and severely out of breath. She found herself the centre of attention quite quickly.

A few people stood, the looks given a mixture of curious and cautious.

A young woman whose name- Jess later learned- was Claudette, made her way over and guided Jess to sit down. Checking over her while offering water and answering the questions she could.

With a pit in her stomach, she learned where she was, in a realm where death had no meaning, where you had to rely on those around you to live and where monsters roamed.

Not Just A Gamer girl (Verse)

Jess had started streaming gaming when she moved in with Amelia, Kau, Deion and Ryan. Being surrounded by people who did Youtube, streamed themselves or who did both? it was hard not to get swept up into it. She started posting her music on a channel of her own later with her friends helping out with editing, occasionally popping up on Amelia’s fashion-based channel or Kau’s art one. She mostly appeared in Ryan’s videos in the background right before she disrupted it and pranked him, they had a good thing going with messing with each other.

Ryan, Jess and Deion streamed together a lot but she also streamed by herself and with friends that didn’t live with her as well, everything was a little stressful between balancing work and uni but she was having fun entertaining people.

The Arcana Verse

Jess was born and raised in Vesuvia, growing up she always helped in the bakery that her family owned. It had been her grandparents baby that had turned into a place her mother inherited and thrived in. She splits her time between helping her mother out and apprenticing under Selasi, a baker who makes the best pumpkin bread in the city. It's long hard work but she enjoys it, she works long days and gets short nights to herself.

On the days she has off, she's always wandering around the city. Popping into shops and buying things, spending time in the Library at her mother's house, having a drink at the Rowdy Raven when night falls.

Occasionally she goes into the magic shop near Selasi's bakery to grab items she needs, mumbling excuses about being tasked to grab things for other people when asked, relatives who need things sent to them before she heads back home to practise. She has no one to apprentice under in magic and is much more comfortable learning on her own, every bit of dough she kneads, everything she bakes has a little bit of magic in it. A quiet mumble of hope for a good day, a mutter of good luck or a whisper of a happy future.

She vaguely remembered a time during the plague, she'd been sent away via a boat to live with some of her siblings and only remembered seeing the end of it. She's worried seeing the red water in the city's south end and tends to stay far from it when she can, sticking close to the houses and buildings along it on her way to the Rowdy Raven and tries to whisper healing and sickness wards into her baked creations when she can. It's draining but every little bit helps and she doesn't want the Plague to come back. An opinion she is sure is shared between a lot of her fellow city folks.

(Since I haven't finished any of the routes yet, this is going to be a 'before and during' the routes verse and once I've finished my current route then I'll update this to reflect that. I am however always down for rping anywhere in the game's timeline. Just be prepared for me to ask questions if I haven’t gotten up to that bit in game yet)

A Song Of Tides And Tales

Jess lived on a small island near the coast, you would rarely find her in her house on the beach but would often find her at the market, exploring the few unexplored places on the Island, playing her guitar in the town square, playing a few fun pranks or if you were lucky and she trusted you, would find her after dark swimming in the ocean.

She was a mermaid and had been living in an underground lagoon for most of her life and had decided to spend some time on the Island as a change of pace. She had long since forgotten her promise to not stay too long lest people get suspicious and had comfortably settled in. Often heading home to her Lagoon to sleep at night, it was the only place she felt comfortable singing. Comfortable in her home with her treasures, under the warm water where she was safe and well hidden away.

Maker of Deals and Dealer of Tricks (Verse)

Once upon a time there was a young girl who used to wander the streets of New York City, making friends with the folks who helped her and making quite a few enemies with the people she protected.

One evening she was on her way back home when she saw a stranger being beaten up by two very rough and rumble looking folks, she jumped in to help and eventually, the folks left her and the stranger alone.

The stranger and the girl got talking while they walked her home after they’d taken care of their injuries, they offered her a flower promising that if she ever needed them. She simply had to rip a petal off the flower and they could come and help.

They helped her to her bedroom, patted her head and left. She didn’t put much thought into their promise but kept the flower on her always. It never seemed to wilt or die and it became an almost comfort blanket for the young girl as she grew up.

A bad relationship came and left her broken down, hiding at a friend’s home, listening to the quiet hushed voices of her friends with tears running down her face. She picked off a petal and waited. No sooner did the stranger appear and offer comfort, waiting until she was at her lowest before offering her a deal.

A deal of power, of hope, of the promise she’d never get hurt again. She accepted, they sent her on soul collection after soul collection and while she did manage to knock them from their throne. She only got her soul back after the light of her former employer’s eyes went dark.

She picked up the contracts and carries her ex-employers soul in a glass ball on a cane she carries with her always, a deal with herself that she wouldn’t let anyone use her again.
