Ashoix doesn’t have a large family, but he’s exceptionally loyal to those remaining. Of his three siblings, his sister Aubelle is probably the most “normal” and respected. She’s married to a minor lord of some other Ishgardian house and plans on having as many babies as possible. She doesn’t have the streak of Valesault wildness her other siblings all share and is an upstanding image of devout propriety. 

Underneath all her pious behaviour, Aubelle is incredibly clever and knows how to use her mild, unthreatening demeanour to sway much in her favour. Though she is married into another house, the success of the Valesaults is her main motivation, politically and socially Ashoix’s greatest ally.
