For anyone still in the Aurora did not have any personality phase. I advise you to watch the movie again. Because the more I watch it, the more I start noticing her personality and the higher she goes on my favorite Disney princess list.

Like how she smiles knowingly when the three fairies try to get her out of the house so they can secretly prepare her birthday. They tell her to go pick berry’s but she mostly uses the time to wander off and be with her friends.

Or this scene where she actively defies her ‘aunts’ who raised her, by wanting to meet someone. And she tricks the animals into thinking she has actually met someone until revealing she only did this in her dream.

Or how she plays along when the animals dress up as a prince. It so cute and if this does not show personality then I don’t know what will.

When she first meets Philip she is a little shocked because he just joined her in her song. And from her perspective kinda came out of nowhere.

She does two oh’s in a row and the first ‘oh!’ Is surprise but the second is more ‘oh!’ He’s cute!’

And she pretty quickly lets him in and can I just say their romance is so believable? I mean for a fairytale you have to believe in love at first sight and there has te be chemistry for that. And Philip and Aurora really make you believe love at first sight is truly a thing.

This scene is so sad. Because she just fell in love and now thinks she will never see him again. And very suddenly everything in her live has changed, she is not who she thinks she is and she had to move and has new sudden responsibilities and is betrothed to a to her knowledge stranger. Yet she goed with the fairies and only starts crying when they get there. Having been holding it all in the whole way there. She’s not screaming and denying she accepts her faith and caries it. She’s just so strong. And I really admire her.

I couldn’t find a very good picture of this specific moment. But she holds her finger back just a second before pricking herself. It’s really short. But she is able to defy a powerful spell cast by the mistress of evil herself.

In conclusion, I really love Aurora with her grace, playfulness, and how strong minded she is. She is not the main character but the screen time she does get she uses to the fullest and she is an amazing character to watch and learn from.

My ten favorite Aurora voices!

Ah, sweet Aurora. One of my favorite princesses like Snow White! Top 5 for me I love her. Her hair is always so captivating for me to watch bounce around...idk why lol.

Like the last three posts, this is my opinion! Mine'll probably be different than yours and that's okay.

And these aren't in any particular order, as I love them all

@snowrinrin I remember you also like Aurora (at least I'm 90% sure you said you did) so I'm tagging you :3

Now, onto the list! Weee~~~

Mary Costa, English

Listen, she IS Aurora. Mary is just wonderful. Her voice is like something out a fairytale...which Sleeping Beauty is lol, her vocalizations when she's walking through the forest before she sings 'I Wonder' are so enchanting, and she has this soft playfulness that really brings out Aurora's character, she really does sound like her voice was gifted to her by fairies!

Danielle Licari, French 1981

Maybe it's because I listen to this version of 'Once Upon a Dream' a lot, but I really love this version of Aurora, she truly sounds like an elegant and graceful princess who was blessed with the gifts of beauty and song! I kinda like her more than Mary tbh, but both are amazing.

Suzuki Mayumi, Japanese 1995

Idk, I just really enjoy the flowy-ness of her voice. She sounds really sweet and unique, I love her! And she actually sounds like a 16-year-old girl to me without sounding cutesy or like she's putting on a voice.

(Also, honorable mention to Maki Mitsuko, the 1960 JP dub voice, I love the vintage sound to her singing is very strong.)

Maria Norma Moraes Illner, Brazilian Portuguese

Brazil has a lot of amazing casts; this is one of them. She just has this dreaminess that Aurora has, and the vintage way of singing...she sounds so friendly and beautiful, a perfect voice for our lovely Briar Rose. She also sounds very unique! And I feel that's important for Aurora since she has the gift of song :>

Birgitta Larsson, Swedish 1980

Bro...she has a voice that suits Aurora so well. No wonder Phillip was so drawn to her. She has this charm that's so unique to her, it sounds romantic and dreamlike~ I feel like twirling around in the forest with her. I love how she sounds in 'Ouad' too, so beautiful <3

Shahd Ezz, Modern Standard Arabic (2022)

She has this vibrato that so pretty to me, Arabic dubs can be very...hit or miss for me, don't get me wrong, the women who voice the characters aren't bad, just sometimes they don't suit the character they're voicing. But Shahd suits Aurora so very well imo! She's one of the most recent Aurora's I believe? But she has this classic sound to her that merge well with the more 'modern' sound.

Emilia Ivanova, Bulgarian

Augh...<3 Emillia sounds so beautiful especially when singing 'I Wonder'...she has this mysterious princess-y vibe to her voice that I love. I love her classic sounding voice sm. (I'm not a big fan of the speaking voice but the singing....!! That's why I love her sm.)

Maria Milde, German

She sounds a lot like Mary Costa to me! So perhaps that's why I like her so much. She sounds so sophisticated and cute! Probably the sweetest sounding Briar Rose that isn't cutesy or super high pitched.

Kertsi Ingrid, Hungarian 1995

Every Hungarian song I've heard has this operatic sound to it (most bc the sounds I'ver heard were older lol, go listen to...I think it's called 'I don't give a hoot about the teacher lady' or smth, I forgot it's been a minute) so when I hear Ingrid as Aurora I feel like I'm transported into a magical forest AGSGFHJMHDGN

She's an amazing Aurora and an amazing singer in general, I could listen to her sing for hours, she sounds so graceful~

Inge Stauss, Danish

Inge is a favorite of many, and I can completely understand why! She sounds so lovely <3 She sounds so full of passion and love, and well...dreamlike! I love the opera sound to her singing which is very important to Aurora.

(also whoever is her speaking voice sounds so sweet, I really like it for Aurora :>)

I KNOW I took more derps and selfies as I went around all the exhibits that con, but they might be on an old phone I'd have to boot up again. Whenever I do find then, I'll put them here! For starters, this was us at the Kingdom Hearts panel featuring Papa Nomura himself where, as always, he says SE told him not to show anything, and he inevitably drops a trailer anyway LOL.
