The forgotten Audi's beast from the 90's! The Audi RS2 Avant! Why am I talking about this one? Well, my father had one Audi A80 Avant, and I absolutely loved that car. It was big, good looking and powerful for our daily tasks. Now imagine that A80 Avant but with a 2.2L 5-cylinder 20v turbo engine, having 311bhp! The RS2 was the product of a co-development project between Audi and Porsche, and this was the first high-performance Audi station wagon (manufactered from March 1994 to July 1995)! Like the rest of the vehicle, the RS2's five-cylinder engine was based on a unit that Audi already produced, although Porsche considerably modified the engine; the standard KKK turbocharger was switched for a larger unit, along with a heavy-duty intercooler and higher flow fuel injectors, a newly designed camshaft, a more efficient induction system, and a low-pressure exhaust system replaced the standard fare. With this much power available, the RS2 can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 262km/h, despite weighing over 1,600kg! I've been a fan of the RS series for Audi and this model was the first one I went like "wow, this is beautiful". It took the station wagon "theme" to another level, and showed us that these type of cars can be sporty and fast! It will always be on of my favourites 😊 Note: I think I saw only 2 of these in my entire life 😥 What do you think about this beast?
