This may have come up before, but do you have any concerns as to what kind of accent your applicants have? I’m Australian, and more than happy to have a crack at a different accent, but I’d like to know if my real accent is okay. Thank you!~
No concerns what so ever! Give us whatever you got. If you want to play with accents, we’d recommend doing at least one take with your natural accent before trying to mix it up. We look forward to hearing you!
I've vamped my recording studio since I sent in my auditions. Should I re record and send the better audio or should I just hope that my original was good enough? Thanks!
If your recording setup has changed and you think it might help the quality of your audition, feel free to re-record it and re-submit it! Just reply to the automated response you got for the original audition so that everything is all in the same email thread. There’s a possibility you’ll get the automated response again, but don’t worry about it either way. We’ll see it. We look forward to hearing your updated audition!

If you’re asking about characters that use pronouns other than “he/him” or “she/her,” then no, we haven’t written any characters like that. However, we would like to say that the gender of these characters is the least important thing about them in the context of the story we’re trying to tell. Despite the pronouns used for them, their gender doesn’t play an important role (hence the note about that in the audition document) because that’s not something that Omega Team will really address.
Hello! I'm interested in auditioning, but I have a couple questions. Have you/the team working on this podcast had experience doing something similar before? Is there any way to get an estimation of the time commitment needed if I'm cast?
We’re happy to hear you’re interested! To answer your first question, yes, the crew that we have has worked on numerous podcasts, so the prior experience is there.
As far as time commitment, it’s somewhat hard to estimate. For main characters, lines for a single episode could take an hour to record, depending on your own process. And while we’re not currently ready to divulge how many episodes there will be, we, personally, don’t believe the time commitment will be anything too major.

Feel free to audition for as many characters as you want! All we ask is that you please make each character’s audition a separate file in the same email.
1/2 this seems like a really exciting project with a great story to tell! when you talk about race not impacting the characters--Okay, i guess fictional worlds aren't all going to have the same dynamics that cause discrimination as RL. Hence fiction. it's great that the visual representations of your characters show a racially diverse group of people--because even if race doesn't matter in-world, representation is still hugely important IRL, especially in the current political climate.
2/2 and that's why it's important that casting reflect those visual representations. because it's fine if race isn't going to be part of the story you're telling. but that doesn't erase racism IRL. it's harder for actors who are people of colour, especially women of colour, to find work, even in voice acting where only voice should matter. Characters depicted as black or brown should only be played by PoC. Cast should match charas even if race isn't part of your story 'cause it does matter IRL

You raise very excellent points, Nonny. In an ideal situation, we would absolutely cast actors to match the race of their roles. Unfortunately, we can only cast people who audition. So any black women or Arabic men (or nb/trans people of either race!) should feel encouraged to audition for the POC roles! We’d love to hear your voices!
