You didn't put voice notes for Lance?

Lance is a little open as far as voice type. We don’t have many physical descriptions in the show about Lance, where the other 3 do. Delorris’s southernsims are part of her character so the person has to be able to do a southern accent. Jimmothy is a large bumbling but sweet man so his voice needs to reflect that large heart. And Dakota is petite, so her voice would show that too.

But lance is just a stuffy nerd. That can be interpreted many ways. We like to hear your interpretation!

instead of recording things about ourselves could we just write it in the email?

Part of the recorded introduction is to get to hear your normal, everyday speaking voice. If you are shy about it, you can have a shorter speaking intro (even just your name and who you’re auditioning for) and write more about yourself in the email, but we definitely want to hear your normal voice as well as your monologue

What if we think there's more than one monologue that we could do for a character? Like what if we're torn between a few that could be good to do?

I would say definitely when choosing monologues, try to find one that has a good range. Expression of emotion and personality is encouraged, and if you feel you absolutely need more than 1 monologue to fully show off your voice for a character then that’s fine.

Edit: If you do choose to do multiple monologues for the sake of range, please try to keep the overall length down, and do all relevant readings for each character you’re auditioning for in the same recording (1 recording per character being auditioned for)

I'd love to audition, but my internet situation isn't very ideal! I'm a bit shy and haven't auditioned for any voice acting roles before! Would you still like for me to audition or would you like someone more professional? I'd love to be a part of this and I'll do whatever I can to make it easier for everyone involved in the project! Our cast as it stands is full of first-timers. This is new for all of us, and if it’s also new for you then we’ll all experience the learning curve together! We definitely encourage you and anyone who is uncertain to audition, as this would be a great opportunity to get your feet wet in the field of voice acting!

Can we swear in our audition or is that Frowned Upon? //can't wait for the podcast to come out!//

As long as the swearing is not excessive (every other word) I’d say go for it. The show will have swearing in it as well, so the occasional swear is nothing out of the ordinary!

Do you have any recommended scripts we read from?

Its actually best if you work with something that you’re familiar with or something you’d think would fit with the character. You could do your reading from any kind of script too, a tv show, film, play, comic, game, or even another podcast. It just needs to be a sample of you reading something in character.

would you like us to read our scripts/monologues in character voices? and if so, if we're auditioning for multiple characters should we send in different auditions doing different voices?

Your introduction about yourself doesn’t have to be in your character voice, but YES, the actual script monologue should be in your character voice!IF you’re auditioning for multiple characters, send in different auditions. Just by the nature of the current characters currently open for audition, they should be fairly different voices. different personalities too so that might change the script that you’re reading from.

Does the para sample have to be in character or nah?

It’s preffered that a para sample is sent in in-character, but it’s not required. We just want to get a feel for how you write. ^_^
